Beenleigh
Beenleigh is a town and suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , the suburb of Beenleigh had a population of 8,252 people. A government survey for the new town was conducted in 1866. The town is the terminus for the Beenleigh railway line, which first opened in 1885 and a stop on the South Coast railway line, which reached Southport in 1889. Beenleigh was the administrative centre of the former Shire of Albert. It is known for the heritage-listed tourist attraction called the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery. In recent years it has seen many high rise developments. Geography Beenleigh and adjoining suburbs are located near the confluence of the Logan and Albert Rivers. The urban centre lies southwest of the Pacific Motorway after it crosses the Logan River and is crossed by the Gold Coast railway line. Beenleigh Railway Station
Beenleigh railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It is one of two stations serving the suburb of Beenleigh in City of Logan, the other being Holmview. History Beenleigh station opened in 1885 at its original location at the same time as the opening of the line. It served as the terminus of the line until the South Coast line opened to Southport on 25 January 1889. It became the terminus of the line again when the South Coast line closed on 30 June 1964. The station was reopened at its current location on 12 March 1988 in time for World Expo 88. The original 1885 station building was relocated to the Beenleigh Historical Village. On 25 February 1996, the line was again extended south when the Gold Coast line opened to Helensvale. Beenleigh Rum is one of Australia's oldest brands of rum. It is produced at the heritage-listed Beenleigh Rum Distillery at Eagleby (formerly part of Beenleigh) in the City of Logan, Queensland. Holmview railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It is one of two stations serving the Logan suburb of Beenleigh, the other being Beenleigh station. Beenleigh Railway Line
The Beenleigh railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane Central railway station, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Originally known as the Logan railway line, the line opened to Loganlea in April 1885 being the first section of the South Coast line which was opened beyond Beenleigh to Southport in 1889. The original city terminus of the line was Stanley St, South Brisbane until a dual track line was constructed from Dutton Park to South Brisbane opposite the Victoria Bridge opening in 1891. Holmview is a residential suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Holmview had a population of 2,358 people. Geography It is located south-west of Brisbane, the state capital.
