Krzysztof Bednarski
Krzysztof Michał Bednarski (''KMB'') (25 July 1953 in Kraków) is a contemporary Polish-Italian sculptor. Life He was one of three sons of Irena and Jerzy Bednarski. Before the war, his parents lived in Lviv, Lwów on Kulparkowska Street. Bednarski completed the XIV High School of General Gottwald in Warsaw. Later he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1973-1978) in the sculpture department in the studios of Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz and Oskar Nikolai Hansen. His diploma was entitled ''Portret Totalny Karola Marksa'' (Karol Marx's Total Portrait) and was defended on July 5, 1978. He was later associated with the theater of Jerzy Grotowski, for which, during the period from 1976-1981, he designed posters. At that time, his first son was born and he worked at the quarry in Borów. Since 1986, he has been living in Rome, Italy. Steven Bednarski (born 1973) is a Canadian historian of the Middle Ages who specializes in fourteenth-century environment, crime, sex, gender, and microhistory. He is notable for being awarded an exceptionally high level of public research funding and for piloting a trans-disciplinary international research partnership network. Jacek Bednarski
Jacek Bogusław Bednarski (12 March 1939 - 19 October 2008) was a Polish chess player and politician who won the Polish Chess Championship in 1963. He received the FIDE title of International Master (IM) in 1964. Chess career Bednarski became interested in chess at the age of eleven. He met with a professional chess training while studying Physics at the Moscow State University. After returning to the Poland Bednarski quickly became one of the leading Polish chess players and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Jagiellonian University. From 1960 to 1979 he played fifteen times in the Polish Chess Championship's finals, and winning four medals: gold (1963), silver (1964) and two bronze (1972, 1975). Bob Bednarski
Robert L. Bednarski (April 5, 1944 – February 22, 2004) was an American heavyweight weightlifter. He set 12 world record in 1968–69 and won three medals at the world championships, including a gold in 1969. Career During his career, Bednarski won five national championships and set 12 ratified world records. He was relatively small for heavyweight weightlifter and relied on his agility. In 1966, he placed second at the world championships, but during the 1967 Pan American Games suffered a career-threatening elbow injury. He recovered, and the next year set two world records at the national championships. At the 1968 US Olympic Trials he placed third, and was not selected for the Olympic team. Fred Bednarski is a retired placekicker in American football. He is often credited with introducing the "soccer-style" kick to American football, setting a new standard for kickers in the sport. Early life Born in Poland during the Russian and then German occupation of the country in World War II, his family was taken to a Nazi labor camp outside of Salzburg, Austria in 1942, where they would spend three years. He considered himself fortunate for having been taken a "labor" or "concentration" camp rather than an extermination camp, as was the fate for many other Polish families. At the camps, when they could find some free time, Bednarski recalls playing games with other camp detainees using makeshift soccer balls constructed from rolled-up socks. John Bednarski
John Severn Bednarski (born July 4, 1952) is a Canadian former ice hockey Defenceman (ice hockey), defenceman, who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers and the Edmonton Oilers between 1974 and 1979. Bednarski was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. An alumnus of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, he signed with the Rangers as a free agent in 1972 and began play in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Rochester Americans. He made his NHL debut in 1974 with the Rangers, playing a total of 99 games over three seasons, and scored two goals and 18 assists. In 1977, he returned to the minor leagues before signing with the Oilers for their first year in the NHL, playing only one game before being sent back down to the minors. He later signed a contract with the Buffalo Sabres but never played another NHL game. Józef Bednarski (born January 21, 1941) is a Polish former professional wrestler and bodybuilder, best known by the ring name Ivan Putski. He was given the nicknames "The Polish Hammer" and "Polish Power". Putski is a former WWF World Tag Team Champion with Tito Santana. He had a famous feud with Superstar Billy Graham over the WWF Championship, which led to many pose-downs, arm wrestling bouts, and long matches between the two.
