Bed Dance (film)
is a 1967 Japanese '' pink film'' directed by Toshio Okuwaki for World Eiga. One of the director's most praised films, it features an early appearance by Naomi Tani. Synopsis The husband of a young wife discovers she has a promiscuous background as a bar hostess. Feeling that his honor has been slighted, he refuses to have intimate relations with her. Cast * Setsu Shimizu () * Michiko Sakyō () * Naomi Tani Critical appraisal In their ''Japanese Cinema Encyclopedia: The Sex Films'', Thomas and Yuko Mihara Weisser judge ''Bed Dance'' to be one of director Toshio Okuwaki's better efforts. Kinema Junpo
, commonly called , is Japan's oldest film magazine and began publication in July 1919. It was first published three times a month, using the Japanese ''Jun'' (旬) system of dividing months into three parts, but the postwar ''Kinema Junpō'' has been published twice a month. The magazine was founded by a group of four students, including Saburō Tanaka, at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Technical High School at the time). In that first month, it was published three times on days with a "1" in them. These first three issues were printed on art paper and had four pages each. ''Kinejun'' initially specialized in covering foreign films, in part because its writers sided with the principles of the Pure Film Movement and strongly criticized Japanese cinema. It later expanded coverage to films released in Japan. While long emphasizing film criticism, it has also served as a trade journal, reporting on the film industry in Japan and announcing new films and trends.加藤幹郎 ...

Naomi Tani
is a Japanese pink film actress who is best known for her appearances in Nikkatsu's ''Roman Porno'' films with an S&M theme during the 1970s. Life and career Early Born October 20, 1948, in the Hakata ward of Fukuoka, Naomi Tani moved to Tokyo at the age of 18. After arrival in Tokyo, she was featured in a photo layout in ''Weekly Taishu / Popular Weekly'' (週刊大衆 - ''Shukan Taishu''). This appearance led to offers for roles in " Pink films", the low-budget, independent soft-core pornographic films which dominated Japan's domestic cinema at this time. Her debut was in the 1967 film ''Special''. She took her screen name "Tani" from the novelist Jun'ichirō Tanizaki and "Naomi" from the central character in his important early work '' A Fool's Love''. "Tani," or "valley," is also a Japanese slang word for the cleavage between the breasts. Consequently, Ms. Tani may have had a variety of puns in mind when she later opened a restaurant calling it the "Ohtani" (Big Breasts or ...

Pink Film
in its broadest sense includes almost any Japanese theatrical film that includes nudity (hence 'pink') or deals with sexual content. This encompasses everything from dramas to action thrillers and exploitation film features. The Western equivalent of pink films would essentially be erotic thrillers, e.g. ''Fatal Attraction'', ''Fifty Shades of Grey'', ''Basic Instinct'', ''9½ Weeks '', as well as the works of directors Russ Meyer and Andy Sidaris. Some writers use the term 'pink film' for Japanese sex movies produced and distributed by smaller independent studios such as OP Eiga, Shintōhō Eiga, Kokuei and Xces. In this narrower sense, Nikkatsu's ''Roman Porno'' series, Toei Company's ''Pinky Violence'' series and the Tokatsu films distributed by Shochiku would not be included as these studios have much larger distribution networks. Until the early 2000s, they were almost exclusively shot on 35 mm movie film, 35mm film. Recently, filmmakers have increasingly used video (wh ...

Naked Pursuit
Nudity is the state of being in which a human is without clothing. The loss of body hair was one of the physical characteristics that marked the biological evolution of modern humans from their hominin ancestors. Adaptations related to hairlessness contributed to the increase in brain size, bipedalism, and the variation in human skin color. While estimates vary, for at least 90,000 years anatomically modern humans were naked. The invention of clothing was part of the transition from being not only anatomically but behaviorally modern. Clothing and body adornments were elements in non-verbal communication reflecting social status and individuality. Through much of history until the late modern period, people might be unclothed in public by necessity or convenience either when engaged in effortful activity, including labor and athletics; or when bathing or swimming. Such functional nudity occurred in groups that were usually but not always segregated by sex. Among ancient ...
