''Bed and Breakfast'' is a 1930 British comedy film directed by Walter Forde and starring Jane Baxter, Richard Cooper and Sari Maritza. It was based on a play by Frederick Whitney. Thought to have been lost, the film was found as a result of a 1992 British Film Institute campaign to locate missing films. Walter Forde
Walter Forde (born Thomas Seymour Woolford, 21 April 1898 – 7 January 1984) was a British actor, screenwriter and Film director, director. Born in Lambeth, south London in 1898, he directed over fifty films between 1919 from the silent era through to 1949 in the sound film, sound era. He died in Los Angeles, California in 1984. Forde was the son of the music hall comedian Tom Seymour. During the 1920s, he was a silent film comedian, acting in a series of shorts before shifting into directing feature films. Emerging as an established film director in the 1930s, he directed films for Gainsborough Pictures and Ealing Studios. Cyril McLaglen
Cyril McLaglen (1899–1987) was a British actor who appeared in a variety of films between 1920 and 1951. He was born in London in 1899 and made his film debut in the 1920 film ''The Call of the Road''. He was the younger brother of the actor Victor McLaglen. McLaglen enjoyed success in the late silent era, and was placed under contract to Gainsborough Pictures, appearing in some of the studio's biggest films of the late 1920s. His career started to falter with the arrival of sound film, sound and he began to appear in low-budget quota quickies. In the mid-1930s he emigrated to the United States, but his roles in Cinema of the United States, Hollywood were even more limited and often consisted in small, often uncredited roles. His screen career had wound down by 1942, but he made one final appearance in the 1951 film ''Soldiers Three (film), Soldiers Three''. Frederick Volpe (31 July 1865 – 7 March 1932), sometimes printed Volpé, was an English actor. He made his stage debut in his early twenties. From 1894 until his death he was a familiar figure on the West End stage, generally in undemanding comedies and other ephemeral productions. Among others, he created the role of Alexis in ''The Girl in the Taxi'' (1913). He made several films, beginning in 1917. Life and career Volpe was born in Liverpool, the son of Raffaele Volpe. Early life, family and education Aked was born in Bingley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England to George Henry Aked and his wife Emma (née Bairstow). Ruth Maitland (born Emma Christian Ruth Erskine; 3 February 1880 – 12 March 1961) was an English actress. She is known for her roles in '' The Faithful Heart'' (1922), ''The Farmer's Wife'' (1928), '' The Only Girl'' (1933), and '' At the Villa Rose'' (1940). On stage, her appearances included the original production of the musical '' Mister Cinders'' at London's Adelphi Theatre in 1929–1930. She married Major James Seafield Grant on 6 August 1918.
