Becky Brewerton
Rebecca Dawn Brewerton (born 20 October 1982) is a Welsh professional golfer and a member of the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Brewerton was born in St Asaph, Wales. She had a successful amateur career. She was Welsh Girls Champion in 1997 and 1998 and Welsh Ladies' Amateur Champion in 1999 and 2001. She won the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 1999 and 2002, a year she also won the European Ladies Amateur Championship Brewerton represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup in 2000, and the Vagliano Trophy in 2001 and 2003. She was in line to be selected to the 2002 Curtis Cup squad but was not selected for the final team. She played in the 2002 Espirito Santo Trophy World Amateur Golf Team Championships and was named as the Daily Telegraph Golfer of the year. Women's British Open
The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a women's major golf championships, major championship in Professional golf tours#Women's tours, women's professional golf. It is recognised by both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. The reigning champion is Ashleigh Buhai, who won in a playoff at Muirfield in 2022 Women's British Open, 2022. Since becoming an LPGA major in 2001 it has generally been played in late July or early August. Ladies English Open
The Ladies English Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour. It was first held between 1991 and 1996, when it was dominated by Laura Davies who won four of the five tournaments played. It was re-established in 2004 and held annually until 2008, during which time it was contested over three rounds, as opposed to four, and as such had one of the lowest prize funds on the tour. 2002 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2002 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 16–19 October at Saujana Golf and Country Club, on its Palm Course and Bunga Raya Course, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was the 20th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were 39 team entries, each with two or three players. Each team played two rounds at the Palm Course and two rounds at the Bunga Raya Course in different orders, but the 21 leading teams played the fourth round at the Palm Course. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The Australia team won the Trophy for their second title, their first since 1978. 2000 Curtis Cup
The 31st Curtis Cup Match was played on 24 and 25 June 2000 at Ganton Golf Club in Ganton, North Yorkshire, England. The United States won 10 to 8. Format The contest was a two-day competition, with three foursomes and six singles matches on each day, a total of 18 points. Each of the 18 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. Rather, each side earned a point toward their team total. The team that accumulated at least 9 points won the competition. In the event of a tie, the current holder retained the Cup. The 2003 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 8–12 July at Frankfurter Golf Club in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It was the 23rd women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. Rose Ladies Series
The Rose Ladies Series is a ladies professional golf tour founded in 2020 and organised by Justin Rose and his wife, Kate Rose. The tour was announced following the reintroduction of golf in the United Kingdom after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and while the Ladies European Tour was suspended as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on professional golf. The introduction of the series was also heavily influenced by Ladies European Tour member Liz Young. In its inaugural season, each of the first seven single-round stroke play tournaments and the three-round grand final were played behind closed doors. The tournaments were funded by Justin and Kate Rose with sponsorship being provided by American Golf and Computacenter and the players paying an entry fee to compete in each tournament. 2009 Ladies European Tour
The 2009 Ladies European Tour was a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from January through December 2009. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 21 official money events, as well as the Solheim Cup and the European Ladies Golf Cup. Sophie Gustafson won the Order of Merit with earnings of €281,315, ahead of Catriona Matthew. Gustafson participated in only four events, and Matthew only three events.
