Beckfoot School
Beckfoot School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, in Bingley, West Yorkshire, England. The school has previously gained Technology College status, specialist school status in the Arts, Artsmark Gold and a Sportsmark Award. It also has a Charter Mark for services to the community and is a City Learning Centre. The school converted to academy status in August 2013. In December 2016, the school received World Class Schools Quality Mark. It is one of the three first schools in northern England to get the status. Beckfoot School is also a training school that has attained ' Investors in People' and a 'School Achievement Award'. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Most academies are secondary schools, though slightly more than 25% of primary schools (4,363 as of December 2017) are academies. Academies are self-governing non-profit charitable trusts and may receive additional support from personal or corporate sponsors, either financially or in kind. James Hanson (footballer Born 1987)
James Robert Hanson (born 9 November 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Worksop Town. He also coaches at the RIASA Academy. After playing youth football for Huddersfield Town and Bradford City, Hanson began his career in semi-professional non-league football, playing for Eccleshill United and Guiseley. He turned professional after re-signing with Bradford City in 2009, for whom he made over 300 appearances. Daniel Carl Ward (born 9 December 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger for Championship club Huddersfield Town. Kimberley Jane Scott (née Walsh; born 20 November 1981) is an English singer, fashion designer, model, variety performer, television presenter, actress and dancer. Bingley
Bingley is a market town and civil parish in the metropolitan borough of the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, on the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, which had a population of 18,294 at the 2011 Census. City Learning Centre
A City Learning Centre is a facility in the United Kingdom which provides ICT-based learning opportunities for the pupils at the host school, for pupils at a network of surrounding schools and for the wider community. The centre aims to enhance learning across the whole curriculum by providing courses and opportunities for individual pupils from schools around the area. The multimedia establishments cater to any age and level of ICT understanding, and some offer conferencing facilities which are pre-bookable by local businesses.
