Becca Longo
Rebecca Longo (born March 17, 1999) is an American American football, football Placekicker, kicker who became the first woman to earn a college football scholarship to an National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA school at the NCAA Division II, Division II level or higher when she signed a letter of intent with Adams State University. She attended Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona and started playing football competitively her sophomore year. In 2014, she was a junior varsity kicker at Queen Creek High in Arizona, but after transferring to Basha High she was forced to sit out her junior year. In her final year of high school, she converted 35 extra points on 38 attempts and was successful on her lone field goal attempt of the season of 30 yards. She did not handle kickoff duties. Adams State University
Adams State University is a public university in Alamosa, Colorado. The university's Adams State Grizzlies athletic teams compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. History Adams State was founded in 1921 as a teacher's college. Billy Adams, a Colorado legislator who would later become a three-term governor of Colorado, worked for three decades before obtaining the authorization to found Adams State Normal School in 1921, to provide higher education opportunities for teachers from remote and rural areas of Colorado, such as the San Luis Valley, and see them work in those same areas. In 1926, Harriet Dalzell Hester became the university's first graduate. She became the school's first librarian and an Alamosa County school superintendent. Basha High School is a public high school located in Chandler, Arizona and was the third high school built by Chandler Unified School District. History Basha High School was named after Eddie Basha Jr., who donated millions of dollars to the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) and lived in the community until his death in 2013. NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
