''Beautiful Thing'' is the fourth studio album by British musician Alexis Taylor. It was released on 20 April 2018, under Domino Recording Company. The album was produced by Tim Goldsworthy. Singles On 22 March 2018, Alexis released the single "Oh Baby". It was produced by Joe Goddard, and features Alexis' Hot Chip band members. Alexis Taylor said of the single: " h Babyis an exuberant love song, with a nod to the music I love by the likes of Alex Chilton and Paul McCartney. It was produced by Joe Goddard and features John Coxon on guitar and some Hot Chip bandmembers playing on it too. I wrote it in about the time it takes to listen to it, and the finished performance was recorded live in the studio. Critical reception ''Beautiful Thing'' was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. Alexis Taylor
Alexis Taylor (born 20 April 1980) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist of the band Hot Chip. He is also the keyboardist of the band About Group and has released solo material. Early life Alexis Taylor was born in London on 20 April 1980, the son of a Greek mother and an English father. His mother is a psychoanalyst, while his father is a professor of English at a university. Career Taylor formed Hot Chip with Joe Goddard while at Elliot Secondary School in the Putney area of London. He studied English at Jesus College, Cambridge from 1999 to 2002, during which time Hot Chip played a variety of gigs (with various line-ups) at Cambridge's live music venues. In 2007, Taylor and Hot Chip produced a two-song album, ''Doubleshaw'', as Booji Boy High under the pseudonyms Georgios Panayiotou and Mother Markzbow. Neil Hagerty
Neil Michael Hagerty (born 1965) is an American guitarist, songwriter and producer. He is best known for his work in Royal Trux which he formed with his partner Jennifer Herrema, who he lived with in Washington, Virginia. Hagerty released several solo albums since Royal Trux's demise in 2001, followed by recordings under the moniker The Howling Hex. He also performed as a guitarist and songwriter in Pussy Galore and Weird War. Terry Edwards
Terry Edwards (born 10 August 1960) is an English musician who plays trumpet, flugelhorn, saxophones, guitar and keyboards. Biography Edwards gained a degree in music from the University of East Anglia in 1982, where he was also a founding member of The Higsons. He produced and played on the debut album by Yeah Jazz called ''Six Lane Ends''. He has subsequently performed and released records both as a solo artist and with his band The Scapegoats. Alexander John Joseph Doyle (born 28 August 1980) is a British musician. He is best known as the guitarist and synthesiser player for British indie electronic band Hot Chip and American rock band LCD Soundsystem. He is also a founding member of British electronic band New Build. Early life Doyle took piano and cello lessons from as young as 5 or 6 years old. He lost interest in these instruments as he began studying at university, when he began teaching himself other instruments, such as the guitar, drums, and bass guitar, and learned how to create music with computers. Hot Chip
Hot Chip are an English synthpop band formed in London in 1995. The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. They are occasionally joined by former member Rob Smoughton for live performances and studio recordings. The group primarily produces music in the synth-pop and alternative dance genres, drawing influences from house and disco. Joe Goddard (musician)
Joe Goddard (born 12 September 1979) is a British musician, songwriter, and DJ. He is best known as a member of the English synth-pop band Hot Chip, which he co-founded with Alexis Taylor. In 2007, he co-founded record label Greco-Roman, which has produced albums by artists such as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Disclosure. Goddard is also a member of electronica group The 2 Bears, and produced two solo albums, ''Harvest Festival'' (2009) and ''Electric Lines'' (2017). Domino Recording Company or simply Domino is a British independent record label based in London.
