Beatriz Sánchez (basketball)
Beatriz Sánchez (born 20 December 1989) is a Spanish basketball player for Durán Maquinaria Ensino and the Spanish national team. She won gold medal at the EuroBasket Women 2017. Club career She started in the youth levels of CB Portuense, moving to Uni-Cajacanarias as a senior in 2007, in the second tier of the Spanish League. In the following years she played at ADBA Avilés, Universitario de Ferrol and CB Bembibre PDM, winning promotion to the first tier in 2012. In 2013 she signed for Universitario de Ferrol. The power forward (PF), also known as the four or strong forward, is a position in basketball. Power forwards play a role similar to centers. When on offense, they typically play with their backs towards the basket. Liga Femenina 2 is the second division of the women's league of basketball in Spain. It was founded in 2001. Competition format Teams in this league are divided into two groups by geographical criteria. The top four teams of each one, qualify to the promotion playoffs. In these playoffs, the qualified teams are divided into two groups of four teams, where the two top teams qualify to the Finals. The two winners of the finals promote to Liga Femenina. The 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, the 18th edition of FIBA's premier international tournament for women's national basketball teams, was held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain from 22 to 30 September 2018. This was the first edition to use the name of ''FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup''. The 2017 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2017, was the 36th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe.
