Beat Breu
Beat Breu (born 23 October 1957, in St. Gallen) is a Swiss former road bicycle racer. In 1982 Tour de France he won the prestigious stage on Alpe d'Huez, as well as another mountain stage finishing in Saint-Lary-Soulan, and finished sixth overall. He also won Tour de Suisse two times and a stage in 1981 Giro d'Italia. In later life in 2019 he fulfilled his childhood dream of having his own circus. In 2022 the National Museum of Switzerland made a miniature model of Breu's stage win up Alpe d'Huez in 1982. Cilo–Aufina
Cilo–Aufina was a Swiss professional cycling team that existed from 1978 to 1986. Its main sponsor was Swiss bicycle manufacturer Cilo Cilo was a Swiss manufacturer of bicycles that filed for bankruptcy in 2002. Saint-Lary-Soulan (; oc, Sent Lari e Sola) is a communes of France, commune of Southwestern France, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées departments of France, department, Occitania (administrative region), Occitania. UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships are the world championships for cyclo-cross organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Starting in 2020, six events are organized each year – men's elite, women's elite, men's under 23, women's under 23, men's under 18 (Men's Juniors), and women's under 18 (Women's Juniors). Traditionally, the elite events are held on a Sunday with the other events held on the Saturday the day before. The UCI awards a gold medal and a rainbow jersey to the winner. Silver and bronze medals are awarded to the second and third place contestants. World champions wear their rainbow jersey until the following year's championship, but they may wear it only in the type of event in which they won it. 1984 Giro D'Italia
The 1984 Giro d'Italia was the 67th running of the Giro. It started in Lucca, on 17 May, with a prologue and concluded in Verona, on 10 June, with a individual time trial. A total of 171 riders from nineteen teams entered the 22-stage race, that was won by Italian Francesco Moser of the Gis Gelati-Tuc Lu team. The second and third places were taken by Frenchman Laurent Fignon and Italian Moreno Argentin, respectively. Amongst the other classifications that the race awarded, Urs Freuler of Atala-Campagnolo won the points classification, Fignon of Renault-Elf won the mountains classification, and Renault-Elf's Charly Mottet completed the Giro as the best neo-professional in the general classification, finishing twenty-first overall.
