Beat Hefti (born 3 February 1978) is a Swiss bobsledder who has competed since the late 1990s. Competing in four Winter Olympics, he has won a total of four Olympic medals. A gold medal in Sochi ( two-man, 2014), two bronze medals in Torino ( two-man and four-man, 2006) and another bronze medal in Salt Lake City ( two-man, 2002). Beat Zberg (born 10 May 1971 in Altdorf, Uri) is a Swiss former professional road bicycle racer for UCI ProTeam Gerolsteiner. Beat Wyss (born in 1947 in Basle) is a Swiss art historian, professor ordinarius for art history and media theory at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, Germany, and member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Life Beat Wyss studied art history, philosophy and German literature at the University of Zurich, where he served as assistant lecturer. In 1980, he was awarded a three-year grant by the Swiss National Fund for research stays at the Free University of Berlin (FU) and at the Istituto Svizzero di Roma. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as an editor for the publishing house Artemis (Zurich/Munich) and taught history of architecture and cultural history at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). Beat Sutter (born 12 December 1962 in Gelterkinden) is a Swiss former football striker who played throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Sutter began his career with FC Basel in 1981 and went on to play 114 matches for the club before he left to join Neuchâtel Xamax in 1986. He spent the best years of his career at Xamax, playing over 200 games there. In 1994, he signed for Yverdon-Sport FC, but he spent just one season there and moved on to FC St. Gallen in 1995. Beat Richner
Beat Richner (13 March 1947 – 9 September 2018) was a Swiss pediatrician, cellist and founder of children's hospitals in Cambodia. He created the Kantha Bopha Foundation in Zurich in 1992 and became its head. Along with another expatriate, he oversaw and ran the predominantly Cambodian-manned hospitals. As both a cellist and a medical doctor, Richner was known by patients, audiences, and donors as "Beatocello". Career After receiving his medical degree in 1973, Dr Richner specialized in pediatric care at the Zurich Children's Hospital. Following this, working for the Swiss Red Cross, he was sent to Cambodia where he worked at the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital in Phnom Penh in 1974 and 1975. The hospital is named in memory of HRH Samdach Preah Ang Mechas Norodom Kantha Bopha (1948–1952), who was the daughter of King Norodom Sihanouk and died at a very young age. Beat Martin Raaflaub (born 19 August 1946 in Winterthur) is a Swiss conductor. He is the brother of Kurt Raaflaub, Professor of Classics and History at Brown University. He grew up in Basel and Cameroon and studied German and history at the University of Basel where he graduated as a doctor in modern Swiss history in 1977. At the same time he became a concert singer after having studied with Fritz Näf. Finally, the Basel Conservatory issued Raaflaub the diploma for "Teaching School Music" and "Choir Direction". In 1976 he was nominated Director of the ''Jugendmusikschule Muttenz'' near Basel. Since 1979 he has managed two other choirs as a musical director, the ''Choir St. Arbogast Muttenz'' and the ''Chamber Choir Bülach'' (''Kammerchor Zürcher Unterland''). Beat Müller (born 8 February 1978 in Bern) is a Swiss sport shooter. He won a bronze medal in the men's 300 m rifle prone (300FR60PR) at the 2008 European Shooting Championships in Granada, Spain, accumulating a score of 599 points. Muller is also a member of Sportschützen Taters, and is coached and trained by former Olympian Wolfram Waibel Jr. of Austria. Muller represented Switzerland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he competed in the men's 50 m rifle 3 positions, along with his teammate Marcel Bürge. He was able to shoot 395 targets in a prone position, 380 in standing, and 389 in kneeling, for a total score of 1,164 points, finishing only in twenty-first place.
