Be A Man (Randy Savage Album)
''Be a Man'' is the debut studio album by American professional wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage. It was released on October 7, 2003 by Big3 Records. The song "Perfect Friend" was written as a tribute to "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, while the title track is a diss song aimed at Hulk Hogan. Recording and release Savage was offered the opportunity to record ''Be a Man'' after meeting Bill Edwards, the chairman of St. Petersburg, Florida-based Big3 Records. The label's in-house production team, Da Raskulls, wrote and produced the album; Savage is credited as co-composer of "Be a Man" and his brother, Lanny Poffo, wrote the lyrics of "Perfect Friend." In a 2003 interview, Savage said his feud with Hulk Hogan, the subject of the title track, was genuine, and that his entry into music was earnest. "I'm just trying to have fun, but I can't stress enough that this isn't a novelty act. I'm in this for the long haul," Savage said. In 2023, the album was released as vinyl LP for the first ...

Be A Man (song)
"Be a Man" is the thirteenth and last single by alternative rock band Hole before their breakup in 2002. The song was co-written by Hole members Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson with contribution from frequent guest Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins. Released in 2000 as a double A-side (the other track being from P.O.D.) this track also featured on the soundtrack to the film ''Any Given Sunday'' (1999). It was the last single by the band for ten years, until " Skinny Little Bitch" in 2010. Background "Be a Man" was initially recorded during sessions for the band's third studio album ''Celebrity Skin'' (1998). The band, however, left the song off the album as they felt it was not cohesive with the rest of the record. On December 2, 1999, the song was uploaded online as a free digital download. Critical reception Chuck Taylor of ''Billboard'' referred to the song as "a slice of femcore" and praised Love's vocal performance. Music video The video (directed by Joseph Kahn) fo ...

The Heptones
The Heptones are a Jamaican rocksteady and reggae vocal trio most active in the 1960s and early 1970s. They were one of the more significant trios of that era, and played a major role in the gradual transition between ska and rocksteady into reggae with their three-part harmonies. The Heptones were contemporaries of the Wailers and the Maytals, and every bit their equal in the mid-1960s. History Leroy Sibbles, Earl Morgan and Barry Llewellyn first came together as "The Hep Ones" in 1965 in Kingston, but they soon changed their name to "The Heptones". The name was chosen by Morgan after seeing a Heptones Tonic bottle lying in a pile of refuse.Thompson, Dave (2002) ''Reggae & Caribbean Music'', Backbeat Books, , p. 114 The Heptones recorded for major Jamaican record producers at the time. They began their career, after one unsuccessful single for Ken Lack's "K Calnek" label, under the watchful eye of Coxsone Dodd of Studio One. The Heptones had a number of Jamaican hits f ...

The Great Radio Controversy
''The Great Radio Controversy'' is the second studio album by American hard rock band Tesla, released in 1989. The album's sound has been described as "glam metal to play inside the cab of a tractor-blusey denim and downright wholesome". The hit singles "Love Song", "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)", "Hang Tough" and "The Way It Is" received considerable airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball, and rocketed the band to stardom. The album is titled after the controversy about the identity of the inventor of radio. It is posited that Serbian engineer Nikola Tesla (whom the band is named after) is the true inventor of radio, while the Italian Guglielmo Marconi took the credit and is widely regarded as having the title. The album's inner sleeve recounts this story. The album was certified double platinum by the RIAA on July 23, 1998. Critical reception Kirk Blows, reviewer of British music newspaper ''Music Week'' gave positive response to the album. He thinks that the album musical materia ...
