Bayside, Worthing
Bayside is a development, currently under construction, located on the eastern approach to Worthing town centre in West Sussex, England. Designed by Allies and Morrison, it consists of two main buildings, the tallest of which, Bayside Vista, is a 15-storey tower that reaches and is the tallest building in Worthing. It replaced the Aquarena swimming pool. The site is about to the east of Worthing Pier, on the edge of East Worthing. It is bounded by Brighton Road to the north, Splashpoint Leisure Centre to the west, Merton Road to the east and the town's seafront and beach to the south. Views extend southwards across the English Channel and the Bay of Sussex and northwards towards the South Downs. Construction began in November 2017 and the building was topped out on 1 October 2019. Worthing () is a seaside town in West Sussex, England, at the foot of the South Downs, west of Brighton, and east of Chichester. With a population of 111,400 and an area of , the borough is the second largest component of the Brighton and Hove built-up area, the 15th most populous urban area in the United Kingdom. Teville Gate is a construction site and car park in Worthing in West Sussex, England. Covering about the site lies at the main entrance to the town centre of Worthing for both rail, via Worthing railway station, and road, via the A24 and A27. The site is bounded by Railway Approach to the north, the A24 Broadwater Road to the east, the A2031 Teville Road to the south and Grand Victorian Hotel to the west. Teville Gate takes its name from the former tollgate that stood on the site for the Worthing to West Grinstead turnpike, close to the Teville Stream which flows through the area. Beach House in Worthing, England is a Regency beach-side villa, built in 1820 to designs by John Rebecca. It was originally known as ''Marino Mansion''. History In the mid-nineteenth century, Sir Frederick Adair Roe, Chief Magistrate of the Bow Street office and head of the Bow Street Runners, London's police force, owned and lived in Beach House. Sir Robert Loder, Conservative Member of Parliament for New Shoreham, lived at Beach House until his death in 1888. His wife, Lady Maria Georgiana Loder and his eldest son Sir Edmund Loder continued to live at Beach House after Sir Robert's death. West Worthing
West Worthing is a neighbourhood of Worthing in West Sussex, England that was developed within Heene and later expanded beyond Heene's boundaries. Intended as an exclusive resort, the township of West Worthing was developed from around 1864 and merged with the formerly separate township of Worthing in 1890, when Worthing gained borough status. Heene is a former civil parish, now part of the borough of Worthing. It lies on the A259 road 0.6 miles (1 km) west of the town centre. Once part of the parish of West Tarring, Heene was a civil parish in its own right from the 16th century until 1902. Splashpoint Leisure Centre
Splashpoint Leisure Centre is a leisure centre located in the centre of Worthing, West Sussex, England. It contains a 25-metre long pool and gymnasium. Designed by WilkinsonEyre it won an award at the World Architecture Festival in 2013. WilkinsonEyre won an architectural design competition held by the Royal Institute of British Architects, which attracted 109 expressions of interest. It was opened by Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds on 20 June 2013. Location Splashpoint Leisure Centre lies between Brighton Road to the north and the town's beach and promenade to the south.
