Bays Precinct
The Bays Precinct is a proposed urban renewal project in Sydney, Australia. It will involve the redevelopment of 95 hectares of land adjoining Port Jackson, Sydney Harbour formerly used by industry. Among the sites to be redeveloped are the Rozelle Yard, Rozelle railway yards, White Bay Power Station, Glebe Island port, the Sydney Fish Market and Wentworth Park. History In November 2014, the Government of New South Wales conducted a summit to formulate a plan for the precinct. In February 2017 expressions of interest in developing a masterplan for the first nine hectares were called for. Transport As part of the Sydney Metro West rapid transit line, The Bays railway station, a station will be built in the precinct. White Bay Power Station
The White Bay Power Station is a heritage listed former coal-fired power station on a site in White Bay, New South Wales, White Bay, in the suburb of Rozelle, from Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. The remains of the plant can be clearly seen at the western end of the Anzac Bridge on the junction of Victoria Road, Sydney, Victoria Road and Roberts Street. The station has been inactive for a number of years and the site is now inaccessible to the general public. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The station is often wrongly referred to as the Balmain Power Station, a plant originally located in Iron Cove, which has since been demolished.
