Bayerische Verfassungsmedaille
The Bayerische Verfassungsmedaille (Bavarian Constitution Medal) is an award by the German state Bavaria, which is awarded annually by the Bavarian state parliament to persons who have rendered outstanding services to the Bavarian constitution. The medal is given in Silver and Gold. The medal was established on 1 December 1961, donated by the then president of parliament , as the necessity arose to honour long-serving members of parliament. The inscription on the medal is "Bayerische Verfassung" (Bavarian constitution) with the Roman year figures MDCCCXVIII (1818), MCMXIX (1919) and MCMXLVI (1946), the obverse shows the Coat of arms of Bavaria. Manfred Christ (born 18 February 1940 in Aschaffenburg) is a German politician, representing the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. Between 1990 and 2008 he represented the constituency of Aschaffenburg-West in the Landtag of Bavaria. After leaving school in 1958, Christ trained first as a machine fitter, then in industrial sales, eventually becoming a company secretary in 1969. Marion Schick (born September 5, 1958) is a German manager, politician and professor. From February 2010 to May 2011 she was Minister of Education of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Doctor Peter Radtke (19 March 1943 – 28 November 2020) was a German actor and playwright who was the author of many scientific publications on disability issues and had a PhD in Romance languages. As a small boy his parents and a sympathetic doctor allowed him to escape a Nazi euthanasia program. From 1957 to 1961 Peter Radtke completed training as an interpreter of English, French and Spanish at a private foreign language school in Regensburg. In 1963 he studied at the University of Pennsylvania and acquired a "Certificate into American Culture and Civilization." Afterwards he studied at Regensburg and Geneva. Gisela Stein (2 October 1935 – 4 May 2009) was a German actress. Biography Stein was born in Swinemünde (now ÅšwinoujÅ›cie, Poland) and educated at the Wiesbaden actors school. She began her stage career in Koblenz, Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and Essen with Erwin Piscator. In 1960 Stein moved to Berlin, where she worked for the next 19 years. Stein appeared also at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Staatstheater Stuttgart and the Salzburg Festival. In 1980 she moved to Munich, where she stood at the Munich Kammerspiele until 2001. Mieczysław "Mietek" Pemper (24 March 1920 – 7 June 2011) was a Polish-born German Holocaust survivor. Pemper helped compile and type Oskar Schindler's now-famous list, which saved 1,200 people from being killed in the Holocaust during World War II. Early life Pemper was born into a Jewish family in Kraków, Poland on 24 March 1920 to Jakub and Regina Pemper. He had one younger brother, Stefan Pemper. In Polish, "Mietek" is short for "Mieczysław", and his family and friends referred to him as such. From early childhood, Pemper was bilingual in Polish and German. Ruth Drexel (; 14 July 1930 – 26 February 2009) was a German actress, director, and theatre director/manager. Her best-known role was as "Resi Berghammer" in the German television series, ''Der Bulle von Tölz'', in which she played the mother of the eponymous cop.
