Battling Mani is an Indian cinema artiste who worked mainly in Tamil films. Career Silent films During the period of silent films, most of the films were made with stories already known to the people. But they introduced attractive dances and stunt scenes to capture the audience's enthusiasm. There were two stunt artistes working at that time. One was Battling Mani and the other was Stunt Raju. Tamil talkies In 1936, the very first action film in Tamil was produced and released. Battling Mani was the obvious choice for the main role that was a daring young man with full of stunt works. He also wrote the story of this film, Madras Mail was a huge success. Miss Sundari was his next film released in 1937. P. S. Sivapackiam paired with him in this film. Madras Mail (film)
''Madras Mail'' is a 1936 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by C. N. Trivedi. The film stars Battling Mani and T. N. Meenakshi. Plot Sekar is a kind hearted young man who helps people. Meena is the daughter of a zamindar. There was a clash between them but that blossomed into love. Sekar is trying to get a government job. Murugesh is a minister in the princely state. He wants to marry Meena. He sends Sekar to jail on a false charge. But Sekar escapes from the jail with the help of an inmate. Sekar renames himself as Madras Mail. He starts punishing people who do wrong and helps ordinary people. In the meantime Meena is abducted by someone. The zamindar has complained to the police and a search is going on. Madras Mail rescues and brings back Meena. It was found that it was Murugesh who abducted Meena. The zamindar sends Murugesh to jail. He releases Sekar and gives Meena to him in marriage.
