''Battle of the Network Reality Stars'' is an American television series that aired on the Bravo cable network from August 17 until September 21, 2005. Based on the popular 1970s and 1980s television competition ''Battle of the Network Stars'', the show consisted of thirty-three competitors from several different reality television shows. Some of the better known contestants include Adam Mesh, from the '' Average Joe'' TV series, Richard Hatch, '' Survivor'' winner, Sue Hawk, (the ''Survivor'' player who gave the infamous "snakes and rats" speech) Ryan Starr and Nikki McKibbin of ''American Idol'' fame, Evan Marriott, of ''Joe Millionaire'' fame, and Will Kirby, winner of '' Big Brother'' season 2. ''Big Brother'' is an American television reality competition show based on the original Dutch reality show of the same name created by producer John de Mol in 1997. The series takes its name from the character in George Orwell's 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four.'' The first season of ''American Idol'' premiered on June 11, 2002 (under the full title ''American Idol: The Search for a Superstar'') and continued until September 4, 2002.
