Battle Of Santiago (1962 FIFA World Cup)
The Battle of Santiago ( it, Battaglia di Santiago, es, Batalla de Santiago) was a football match during the 1962 FIFA World Cup, played between host Chile and Italy on 2 June 1962 in Santiago. It gained its nickname from the level of violence seen in the game, in which two players were sent off, numerous punches were thrown and police intervention was required four times. The referee was Ken Aston, who later went on to invent yellow and red cards. Giorgio Ferrini
Giorgio Ferrini (; 18 August 1939 – 8 November 1976) was an Italian football manager and former football player who played as a midfielder. Nicknamed ''La Diga'' ('The Dam') for his qualities as a defensive midfielder, Ferrini played for Torino from 1959 to 1975, and is the most capped player in the history of the ''Granata'' with 566 appearances in all competitions, ahead of Paolo Pulici (437). At club level, he won the Coppa Italia in 1967–68 and 1970–71. He also represented the Italy national team, winning the 1968 European Championship. Vladica Popović
Vladimir "Vladica" Popović (; 17 March 1935 – 10 August 2020) was a Serbian professional footballer and manager. The biggest success in his coaching career was winning the Intercontinental Cup with Red Star Belgrade in 1991. Born in Zemun, Popović started playing at local side Jedinstvo but his talent was spotted while he was still very young and giants Red Star Belgrade brought him to their youth team where he will later play for more than a decade becoming team captain and also regular member of the Yugoslav national team. 1966 FIFA World Cup
The 1966 FIFA World Cup was the eighth FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in England from 11 July to 30 July 1966. The England national football team defeated West Germany 4-2 in the final to win the tournament. The final had finished at 2–2 after 90 minutes and went to extra time, when Geoff Hurst scored two goals to complete his hat-trick, the first (and , only) to be scored in a men's World Cup final. Jaime Caupolicán Ramírez Banda (14 August 1931 – 26 February 2003) was a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a right winger. Club career Ramírez was skillful with the ball, he had great technique and even at his height, he did great heading, playing at the junior divisions of Bádminton F.C. Humberto Dionisio Maschio (; born 20 February 1933) is an Italian-Argentine former football player and manager who played as a forward or midfielder. At international level, he represented both the Argentina national team, winning the 1957 Copa América, and the Italy national team, taking part in the 1962 FIFA World Cup. Mario David (; 3 January 1934 – 26 July 2005) was an Italian footballer and manager, who played as a defender. Club career David was born at Udine. Leonel Guillermo Sánchez Lineros (25 April 1936 – 2 April 2022) was a Chilean professional footballer who played as a striker on the left wing.
