Michigan–Ontario League was the name of an American professional baseball league. It operated seven full seasons and part of an eighth from 1919 to 1926. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, in northwest Calhoun County, Michigan, Calhoun County, at the confluence of the Kalamazoo River, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek River, Battle Creek rivers. Johnnie Heving
John Aloysius Heving (April 29, 1896 – December 24, 1968) was an American professional baseball catcher. He played all or part of eight season in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Athletics. His younger brother, Joe, was a major league pitcher from 1930 to 1945. He spent the next three seasons out of professional baseball before returning to the majors with the Boston Red Sox in 1924–25. Trader Horne (baseball)
Berlyn Dale Horne (April 12, 1899 – February 3, 1983) was a relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Chicago Cubs during the 1929 season. Listed at 5' 9", 155 lb., Horne was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. He was born in Bachman, Ohio. In his one season in the majors, Horne posted a 1–1 record with a 5.09 ERA in 11 appearances, including one start, six strikeouts, 21 walks, 24 hits allowed, and 23 innings of work without a save. However, Horne's minor league baseball career spanned 22 seasons from 1917 to 1938, including several seasons in the Pacific Coast League. He won over 200 games in the minors during his career. Horne died at the age of 83 in Franklin, Ohio. Clarence John Winters (September 7, 1899 – June 29, 1945) was a professional baseball pitcher. He appeared in four games in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox during the 1924 season. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. Winters began his professional career in 1920 with the Battle Creek Custers of the Michigan–Ontario League. He was 24 years old when he entered the majors with Boston. He had been obtained from Class-A San Antonio in exchange for Oscar Fuhr.
