Baton Rouge Capitals
BRSC Capitals are an American soccer team based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. Founded in 2007, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Mid South Division of the Southern Conference, before being dissolved in 2011. In 2021, the team was reformed and placed in the Gulf Coast Premier League. The team plays its home games in Olympia Stadium. The team's colors are red, white and black. History Baton Rouge entered its first ever soccer franchise into the PDL in 2007, under the leadership of Bo Cassidy, a veteran coach and collegiate player at UMass Amherst. The Capitals started their inaugural season with three straight defeats, failing to pick up their first win until the fourth game of the season, 1–0 over fellow new boys Mississippi Brilla. Baton Rouge ( ; ) is a city in and the capital of the U.S. state of Louisiana. Joe Tait
Joseph Tait (May 15, 1937 – March 10, 2021) was an American sports broadcaster who was the play-by-play announcer on radio for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and both TV and radio for the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball. With the exception of two seasons in the early 1980s and illness during his final season, he was the Cavaliers' radio announcer from the team's inception in 1970 through the 2010–11 season. Christian Life Academy, and later The Church Academy, was a private, non-denominational Christian school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was founded as Christian Life Academy in 1981 and closed in 2017. The school reopened in 2018 as The Church Academy, but closed again in 2019. Thousands of students have attended this K-12 academy including people of influence in the business and sports communities. History Christian Life Fellowship opened its doors in 1976, and the Academy began in 1981 with grades 7 through 10. The following year grades Kindergarten through 12 were available. Christian Life Academy was a comprehensive school offering a college-preparatory education in a Christian atmosphere. Joe Tait (footballer)
Joseph George Tait (born 4 February 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for National League North club Spennymoor Town. Career Early career Tait was born in Middlesbrough, Cleveland. He turned professional in 2006 with League One club Hartlepool United. He played extensively with the youth and reserve teams, captaining the youth team to the Youth League Cup final in 2007, and helping the reserves win the Division One East title of the Central League. United States Tait moved from his native England to the United States in 2009 after accepting a scholarship to play college soccer at Lindsey Wilson College. Anthony Peters (born October 24, 1983) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and college Peters attended Baton Rouge Magnet High School and played two years of college soccer at the University of Kentucky, before trying his hand at playing professionally in both Norway and Iceland. Finding opportunities in Europe limited, he returned to college in 2007, playing for West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he was named as the WVIAC Player of the Year and to the NSCAA/Adidas Atlantic Region All-American First Team in 2008. Patrick Michael Mullins (born February 5, 1992) is an American retired soccer player. A left-footed forward, he was a two-time winner of the Hermann Trophy as the top men's college soccer player and was the leading scorer in NCAA Division I soccer in 2013. He scored 31 goals during an eight-season career in Major League Soccer (MLS), appearing with five different clubs. Born in New Orleans, Mullins won two state championships and was the 2008 Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year while at Jesuit High School. Scott Joseph Gordon (born April 6, 1988) is an American soccer player. Career College and amateur Gordon grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, attended Spanish River High School, and began his college soccer career at Mercer University, transferring to Lynn University prior to his sophomore year in 2007. After missing all of 2008 due to injury Gordon returned to the field for his junior season in 2009, appearing in 12 games and receiving an All-Sunshine State Conference Honorable Mention. He finished his college career with 28 games, logging five goals, four assists and 14 points. Achille Pierre Camille Campion (born 10 March 1990) is a French former footballer who played as a forward. He played youth football for USL Dunkerque, before playing college football in the United States for Belhaven Blazers, UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, Baton Rouge Capitals, and Ventura County Fusion.
