Baton Rouge ( ; ) is a city in and the capital of the U.S. state of Louisiana. Located the eastern bank of the Mississippi River, it is the parish seat of East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana's most populous parish—the equivalent of counties in other U.S. states. USS ''Baton Rouge'' (SSN-689) was a nuclear-powered attack submarine which served with the United States Navy. With her keel laid down on 18 November 1972, ''Baton Rouge'' was launched on 26 April 1975. She became the second ''Los Angeles''-class submarine to be commissioned, on 25 June 1977. Baton Rouge was an American hard rock band, formed in 1986 in Pearl River, Louisiana. The band produced two albums and enjoyed limited success during the final part of the hair metal explosion in the early 1990s, before disbanding. All the band members went on to work with other hard rock recording artists Lance Bulen (Puzzle Gut and Kingbaby). Vocalist and guitarist Kelly Keeling performed with Michael Schenker Group and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. History The group was originally composed of Lance Bulen (vocals), Kelly Keeling (guitars and keyboards), Keith Harrison (bass) and Harold Knappenberger III (drums). The group began their career under the name Voices, later changed to Cheetah, then to Meridian, finally changed to "Baton Rouge" which Ahmet Ertegun asked for, so some roots from Louisiana would be part of the name and because of the similar name of the band Melidian. ''Bâton Rouge'' is a 1985 France, French film directed by Rachid Bouchareb. Synopsis In a town on the outskirts of Paris, Karim, Abdenour and Mozart search for small acting jobs. Karim's father reassures him that he will someday become someone important. Abdenour, orphaned, promises his brother that he may soon withdraw from welfare. Mozart, a saxophonist, dreams of going to America, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which he considers the capital of blues music. The dream soon becomes a reality in the wake of Abdenour falling in love with Becky, a young American, and thanks to one of his friend's tricks allows all of them to obtain airline tickets to New York City.
