Bastian Winkelhaus is a German Star Wars Customizable Card Game player. He was the first 3-time world champion, and the first person to win the championship in consecutive years. He is best known for winning the 2001 SWCCG world championship at FreedomCon. After a long hiatus from competitive play, Winkelhaus returned and won back-to-back world championships in 2018 and 2019. He is also a multiple SWCCG European champion and a Team Tournament champion alongside Justin Branch. Winkelhaus has also won the European Continental Championships four times. ''Star Wars: Customizable Card Game'' (''SW:CCG'') is an out-of-print customizable card game based on the '' Star Wars'' fictional universe. It was created by Decipher, Inc., which also produced the ''Star Trek Customizable Card Game'' and ''The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game''. The game was produced from December 1995 until December 2001. Since 2002, the game has been maintained by the Star Wars CCG Players Committee, with new virtual cards being released every few months and the capability to play both in person and online. History ''Star Wars CCG'' was first released in December 1995 after game play rights were purchased from a game designer. Over the years, Decipher added 11 full expansions to the original card base, as well as numerous smaller expansions, special purpose sets, and promotional releases. Decipher, Inc. is an American gaming company based in Norfolk, Virginia, US. They began with three puzzles called "Decipher" then moved on to party games and ''Pente'' sets, but since 1994 produced collectible card and role-playing games. Their longest-running offering is the ''How to Host a Murder'' Mystery series. Other popular works have included many different card games.
