Jonas Erik Altberg (; born 22 December 1984), known professionally as Basshunter, is a Swedish singer, record producer, songwriter and DJ. Basshunter has recorded five studio albums: ''The Bassmachine'' (2004), ''LOL'' (2006), ''Now You're Gone – The Album'' (2008), '' Bass Generation'' (2009), and ''Calling Time'' (2013). In addition to his own music, he has written for El Capon, Mange Makers, and Lana Scolaro. He has taken part in the seventh series of the British reality television show '' Celebrity Big Brother'', episodes of the Swedish game show '' Fångarna på fortet'', and an episode of the British television quiz show ''Weakest Link''. Basshunter has won awards such as a European Border Breakers Award (2008), a Musikförläggarnas pris in category Newcomer of the Year (2006), and a Telia award for Best Ringtone of the Year (2007). ''LOL'' (stylized ''LOL ''; LOL is short for " laughing out loud", and is an emoticon for "satisfied") is the second studio album by the Swedish musician Basshunter, and was released on 28 August 2006 by Warner Music Sweden. An international edition was released on 22 December 2006, with a red version of the cover artwork. The international version includes the original album's Swedish songs (with the exception of "Sverige") with their titles translated into English, a slightly-different track order and additional tracks, including "Jingle Bells". ''Now You're Gone – The Album'' is the third studio album by Swedish musician Basshunter. Released on 14 July 2008, it is his debut English language album, entering the UK Albums Chart at number one, and selling in excess of 329,717 copies in the UK making it platinum. In New Zealand, the album peaked at number one in its fifth week, and was certified platinum and selling over 20,000 copies. The album spent a total of two weeks at number one. Dance Nation (record Label)
Dance Nation was a British independent record label which was a subsidiary of Ministry of Sound. When founded in 2007 it was known as Hard2Beat Records, and was rebranded to its current name in 2010. The label's first release was " Now You're Gone" by Basshunter, and they have released other singles and compilation albums since then. In April 2009 they held ''Dance Nation Live'', a live arena tour across the UK. Basshunter headlined the tour with acts including Sash!, Lasgo, and Platnum. Dance Nation had its own customized content channel on Audiotube. The label brand was used as a Sky TV Channel in 2012, since it has not had any new releases or live tours. On 8 July 2006 he debuted in television during Sommarkrysset concert. In 2008 he said that he performed live at more than 600 shows in the United Kingdom. ''The Bassmachine'' is the debut studio album by Swedish musician Basshunter. It was released on 25 August 2004 by Alex Music. In 2005 a remastered version of this album was released, with better sound quality and volume. In 2006 album was released on Basshunter webpage as ''The Bass Machine''. All tracks listed on the album were re-released on '' The Early Bedroom Sessions'' in 2012. Background and release The release date was originally scheduled for July 2004. Before the release on 25 August by Alex Music album was available to pre-order. Sample of album from Alex Music contained unreleased track. Basshunter wrote and produced all tracks. ''Calling Time'' is the fifth studio album by Swedish musician Basshunter. It was released on 13 May 2013. Background and release Basshunter started working on the album in October 2010. It was announced that the album will feature the single "Saturday", released 5 July 2010. It was initially planned that the album would be released in early 2011. In April 2011, the Basshunter recorded with the participants of the Swedish edition of '' Big Brother'', " Fest i hela huset".
