Bassala Sambou
Bassala Sambou (born 15 October 1997) is a German footballer who plays as a striker for Crewe Alexandra. Career Sambou was born in Hannover, to Senegalese parents but moved to London aged seven with his family. Coventry City Sambou played Sunday League football before joining Coventry City as a 15-year-old. He progressed through the youth team and was among six players to be signed for the club from the academy as part of an apprenticeship. Sambou made his professional debut as a substitute for Coventry City on 7 November 2015 in a 2–1 FA Cup first round loss to Northampton Town at the Ricoh Arena, coming on to replace Conor Thomas after 58 minutes. During his final season with Coventry, he scored 25 goals across the under-18s and under-21s teams. Professional Development League
The Professional Development League is a system of youth association football, football leagues that are managed, organised and controlled by the Premier League or by the Football League. It was introduced by the The Football Association, Football Association via the Elite Player Performance Plan in 2012. The system was introduced in early 2012 and was active for the first time during the 2012–13 season. It is a successor to the Premier Reserve League, Premier Academy League and Football Combination. The 2016–17 Professional U23 Development League is the fifth season of the Professional Development League system, and the first since the age limit was raised from under-21 to under-23. Alex Morris (born 5 October 1983) is an English professional football manager, and is head coach of Stoke City U21s. Career Playing career Morris joined Crewe Alexandra's youth system aged 12 as a midfielder in 1995 and was a contemporary of players including Dean Ashton, David Vaughan and Lee Bell. He was a member of Crewe's reserve side which won the Cheshire Senior Cup in 2003. Despite injury difficulties including a stress fracture of his shin, Morris was, alongside fellow Academy graduate Chris McCready, offered a one-year contract by manager Dario Gradi in 2004.
