Basler Nationalzeitung
''Basler Zeitung'' (literally: "Basler Newspaper"), or ''BaZ'', is a Switzerland, Swiss German language, German-language regional daily newspaper, published in Basel. History and profile ''Basler Zeitung'' was created in 1977 through the merger of the ''Basler Nachrichten'' and the ''National-Zeitung''. The paper has its headquarters in Basel and the Basel-Landschaft, Basel canton. The newspaper is owned by the Basler Zeitung Medien which also publishes the free daily newspaper ''Baslerstab''. The shareholders of ''Basler Zeitung'' are Tito Tettamanti (75%) and Martin Wagner (25%) In 1997 ''Basler Zeitung'' had a circulation of 115,297 copies. The circulation of the paper was 104,000 copies in 2003. The 2006 circulation of the daily was 98,645 copies. Basel-Landschaft
Basel-Landschaft or Basel-Country informally known as Baselland or Baselbiet (; german: Kanton Basel-Landschaft ; rm, Chantun Basilea-Champagna; french: Canton de Bâle-Campagne; it, Canton Basilea Campagna), is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of five districts and its capital city is Liestal. It is traditionally considered a " half-canton", the other half being Basel-Stadt, its urban counterpart. Tito Tettamanti
Tito Tettamanti (born 6 October 1930) is a Swiss lawyer, politician, and businessman. Tito Tettamanti, born in Lugano, Switzerland, the son of a Swiss banker, studied at the Faculty of Law at Berne University where he graduated in 1953 at the age of 23. He passed the bar exam in 1955 and qualified as a lawyer. He was an activist of the Christian Democratic People’s Party of Switzerland (Partito Popolare Democratico) and was elected as member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Ticino. In 1959 he was elected at the Council of States until July 9, 1960. He was removed from his political mandate for tax fraud. In 1959 Tettamanti founded the law and notary firm Tettamanti-Spiess-Dotta and at the end of 1960 he founded the fiduciary company Fidinam SA, which initially assisted said law and notary firm Tettamanti-Spiess-Dotta in providing administrative and accounting services to its clients and later became one of the 10 most important Swiss fiduciary companies. The ''National-Zeitung'' (NZ, ''National Newspaper'') was a weekly, extreme right newspaper, published by Gerhard Frey, who also founded the far right Deutsche Volksunion (German People's Union) as an association in 1971, turning it into a political party in 1987. The party was merged with the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD). NZ was last published in December 2019. The newspaper was first published in 1951 as the ''Deutsche Soldaten-Zeitung'', came under Frey's control in 1959, was renamed ''Deutsche National-Zeitung und Soldaten-Zeitung'' in 1960–61 and ''Deutsche National-Zeitung'' in 1963.
