Baskin (film)
''Baskin'' is a 2015 Turkish surrealist horror film directed by Can Evrenol, based on his 2013 short film by the same name. It centers around five police officers who have inadvertently wandered into Hell. First screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2015, the film marks Evrenol's feature film directorial debut. Actors Muharrem Bayrak and Gorkem Kasal, who had performed in the short film version, returned to star in the full-length film, joined by Ergun Kuyucu, Fatih Dokgoz and Sabahattin Yakut as the five police officers that make up the film's main cast of protagonists. Leonard Baskin (August 15, 1922 – June 3, 2000) was an American sculptor, draughtsman and graphic artist, as well as founder of the Gehenna Press (1942–2000). Kathleen Baskin-Ball
Kathleen Baskin-Ball (September 16, 1958 – December 2, 2008) was an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She was ordained as deacon and probationary member of the North Texas Conference in 1983 and as elder and full member of the North Texas Conference in 1988. She received national recognition for her preaching, especially to youth. She was a keynote speaker at Youth2007, the international youth conference of the UMC. She was also recognized regionally as the first female minister in North Texas to demonstrate high membership and worship attendance growth while serving as senior pastor of a large church. She had a notable career record of growth in membership, worship attendance, and people joining by profession of faith. Baskin-Ball died on December 2, 2008, after two years' illness with cancer. Theodore Baskin (born June 14, 1950) has been Principal Oboe of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal since 1980. Born in Detroit, MI, he studied oboe with Arno Mariotti while at Cass Technical High School and John de Lancie while at the Curtis Institute of Music. Prior to his employment in the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, he held posts in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Auckland Symphonia. Additionally, from 2000 to 2002, he was Professor of Oboe at the Indiana University School of Music. Baskin has appeared as soloist in Canada, the United States, Japan, and New Zealand. Nora Raleigh Baskin (born May 18, 1961) is an American author of books for children and young adults. Biography Nora Baskin was born in Brooklyn, New York City and is Jewish. When Baskin was three, her mother committed suicide, and many of her own feelings surrounding that incident have later fueled her writing. When Baskin was seven, she and her family moved to upstate New York. When she was 23, she graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase. Her books are based on her life, with Baskin feeling as though she has been writing about the same character much of her life. At first, Baskin began by writing fiction for adults and had been trying to get published for around five years. During a writing course Baskin took, a woman suggested she try writing for children, and Baskin changed her target audience. Olive "Bibi" Baskin (born 19 May 1952) is an Irish radio presenter, hotelier and former television presenter for Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). She has been described as "RTÉ's legendary redhead". Joseph Baskin (October 20, 1880 – June 26, 1952) was a Belarusian-born Jewish-American labor activist. Life Baskin was born on October 20, 1880 in Biala, Minsk Governorate, Russia, the son of Nachim Mendel and Rose Baskin. The son of a poor elementary school teacher, Baskin was raised by his father's second wife following the death of his biological mother. He attended religious elementary schools in Biala, Ilya, Hute, and Dolhinov until he was twelve. When he was twelve, while still a Yeshiva student, he became an elementary school teacher for two young boys. He then went to Vilna and studied in Rabbi Yoyel's Yeshiva while working as an assistant synagogue sexton in the cobblers' synagogue. He also studied Russian and secular subjects, and under the influence of his older brother Avrom, who left the Yeshiva to become a laborer, he became a socialist supporter by the age of fifteen.
