The Basketball competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur took place from 20 to 26 August at MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. The 2017 Games featured competitions in two events. Raymar A. Jose is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was selected 3rd overall by Blackwater Elite in the 2017 PBA draft. Early life and high school career Jose's love for basketball began on his barangay's basketball court in Negros Occidental, where he played against his uncles and learned how to play the sport.
