1985 Southeast Asian Games
The 1985 Southeast Asian Games ( th, กีฬาแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ 1985, Kila haeng echeiy tawan oak cheing tai 1985), officially known as the 13th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Bangkok, Thailand from 8 to 17 December 1985. This was the fourth time Thailand hosted the games and its first time since 1975. The country had previously hosted the 1959, 1967 and the 1975 editions, at the time when the games were then known as the Southeast Asian Peninsular (SEAP) Games. The games was opened and closed by Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand at the Suphachalasai Stadium. The final medal tally was led by hosts Thailand, followed by Indonesia and the Philippines. Thai-Japanese Bangkok Youth Center
The Thai-Japanese Stadium (Japanese: タイ・ジャパニーズ・スタジアム; th, ศูนย์เยาวชนกรุงเทพมหานคร), also called Thai-Japanese Bangkok Youth Center ( is a multi-purpose stadium in Din Daeng, Bangkok, Thailand. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Bangkok United of the Thai Premier League. The stadium holds 6,600 spectators It is one of the more substantial stadiums in Bangkok. On one side is a - barely - covered stand fitted with red seats. 'B M A' (Bangkok Metropolitan Administration) is picked out in white seats (The BMA own the stadium). The rest of the stadium is a continuous ring with seats fitted throughout (unusual in Thailand). The word 'BANGKOK' has been picked out with white seats in the stand opposite the main stand. This stand also has an insignificant cover. The basketball tournament at the 1983 Southeast Asian Games took place from 29 May to 5 June 1983. This edition of the tournament featured both men's and women's tournament. All matches took place at the Gay World Stadium in Singapore. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. The Philippines have dominated the men's events since the sport was played, winning 18 of the 21 events. Malaysia won 13 of the 20 women's events. Starting in 2019, the 3x3 version of the game was played, in addition to the usual 5-on-5 full strength teams.
