Bart Van Est
Bart van Est (born 1 November 1956) is a retired Dutch cyclist who was active between 1976 and 1983. He was part of the Dutch team that won the 1978 UCI Road World Championships in the team time trial. Dinteloord
Dinteloord is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Dinteloord is known for its sugar factory, and the Muza festivals that have been held for over 50 years. History The village was first mentioned in 1604 as "le village de Dindeloort", and means land near the Dintel river. The village was founded after the Prinsenland ''polder'' was established. The Dutch Reformed church was built in 1693 as a square building with an octagon domed tower. After 1944, only the walls remained, however it has been restored after the war. The town hall is a square building in neoclassic style which was constructed in 1830 by modified the existing building. After being damaged in 1944, it was restored between 1948 and 1949. Dinteloord was home to 1,073 people in 1840. The sugar factory of Suiker Unie (nowadays: Cosun Beet Company) was established in 1908, and is the largest sugar factory of Europe. UCI Road World Championships
The UCI Road World Championships are the annual world championships for bicycle road racing organized by the (UCI). The UCI Road World Championships consist of events for road race and individual time trial, and a mixed team relay. Events All the world championship events are ridden by national teams, not trade teams such as in most other major races. Olympia's Tour
The Olympia's Tour is a cycling stage race held in the Netherlands. History A.S.C. Olympia was founded in Amsterdam on 27 November 1898. It ran one-day races but wanted a race through all the Netherlands. The first Olympia's Tour was in 1909, with three stages and one rest day. The second in 1910 went to Maastricht and Groningen. It was 17 years before the third race, partly because races on public roads were forbidden in the Netherlands during the First World War. An international field with 16 Germans, the champions of Switzerland and Luxembourg and around 40 Dutch riders left the Rembrandtplein on 17 August 1927. The Dutch were mainly amateurs, the Germans sponsored riders who rode for bicycle manufacturers such as Opel and Diamant which provided material and a support team. The German Rudolf Wolke won after four stages and 800 kilometres ahead of Janus Braspennincx. It was the last race until 1955.
