Barry Colliver
Barry Raymond Colliver (28 February 1935 – 19 May 2023) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He won the under-19s best and fairest in 1952 and was captain the next year. After his time for the Essendon, Colliver played for the Rushworth Football Club and was captain-coach of Lake Boga Lake Boga () is a town in Victoria, Australia, located next to the lake of the same name. The Carrum-Patterson Lakes Football Club is an Australian rules football club from Melbourne, that was founded in 1909 and currently plays in Division 3 of the Southern Football League. History Football has been reported to be played in Carrum since as early as 1902. Between 1902 and 1908 it has been well reported that a 'Carrum Football Club' played pre-season matches against the likes of Frankston Football Club and Mornington Football Club but never competed in an organised competition. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. The Rushworth Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the town of Rushworth, Victoria, Australia.
