Barry Clark (EastEnders)
Barry Clark is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera, ''EastEnders'', played by Gary Hailes from 18 November 1986 to July 1988, returning for one episode on 23 February 1989. Hailes reprised the role in December 2022 for the funeral of Dot Cotton (June Brown). Barry's absence of 33 years from EastEnders is currently the longest absence between appearances of any character in the show's history. Barry is a cockney barrow-boy, and an unlikely partner for the gay, middle classed yuppie, Colin Russell (Michael Cashman). He is much younger than his middle-aged boyfriend and as such Colin's role is almost paternal. Barry is open about his sexuality to everyone except his volatile father — and when he is finally told he takes the news so badly that Barry tries to unsuccessfully suppress his homosexuality just to appease him. Barry Clark (rally Driver)
Barry Clark (born 30 July 1982) is a British rally driver born in Aberdeen in Scotland. In 2006 he struck driver Jörg Bastuck during the Rally of Catalunya, which shortly after led to Bastuck's demise. After becoming the Fiesta Sporting Trophy International champion in 2007, Clark has been awarded a drive in the World Rally Championship for one event, and secured funding for two more events. His first event was to be in Turkey driving a Ford Focus WRC for the Munchi's Ford team, but after regular Munchi's driver Luís Pérez Companc had to drop out of the Jordan rally, Clark took his place at short notice. Clark also helps organise his local event, the Speyside Stages organised by 63 car club. Despite competing in four WRC events in 2008, he was unable to secure sponsorship to enable him to continue at that level and he more or less retired from the WRC. Barry Clark (tenor)
Barry Clark (born 1950) is an English opera singer and actor. Beginning in the 1970s, Clark played tenor roles in the Savoy Operas for over a decade with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. He then sang in various opera companies, including New Sadler's Wells and Scottish Opera, and played in musicals on the West End. Later, Clark concentrated on oratorio and, in recent years, appeared with the Carl Rosa Opera Company, among others. Early life and career Born in Southampton, where he attended Regent's Park Secondary School, Clark made his first stage appearances as an amateur with the Southampton Operatic Society in Gilbert and Sullivan operas before commencing his professional singing career with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, with whom he appeared from 1971 to 1982. There, he began in the chorus and then played small roles and understudied all the principal Gilbert and Sullivan tenor roles.
