Barry Bannan
Barry Ryan Bannan (born 1 December 1989) is a Scottish professional Association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL League One club Sheffield Wednesday F.C., Sheffield Wednesday. Bannan began his career at Albion Rovers F.C., Albion Rovers before moving to the Celtic F.C., Celtic Academy and later the Aston Villa Academy. After four years in their youth and reserve sides he made his senior debut for Aston Villa F.C, Aston Villa in 2008, and was subsequently loaned to Derby County F.C., Derby County, Blackpool F.C., Blackpool and Leeds United F.C., Leeds United in the Football League Championship, Championship to gain experience. In 2013, he signed for Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee, and after a brief loan to Bolton Wanderers F.C., Bolton Wanderers, moved on to Sheffield Wednesday. Aston Villa Academy
The Aston Villa Under-21s, formerly known as Aston Villa Reserves and Aston Villa Under-23s, are the most senior youth development team of Aston Villa and compete in Premier League 2 (Division 2) of the Professional Development League, the Premier League Cup and the EFL Trophy in the 2022–23 season. The team plays its home games at Aston Villa's training ground, Bodymoor Heath and occasionally Villa Park. The 2008–09 UEFA Cup was the 38th season of the UEFA Cup football tournament. The final was played at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, home ground of Fenerbahçe, in Istanbul on 20 May 2009. This season was the final one to use the UEFA Cup format; starting in 2009, the competition was known as the UEFA Europa League. Craig Gardner
Craig Gardner (born 25 November 1986) is an English professional football coach and former player who made 260 appearances in the Premier League and a further 67 in the Championship. He joined the coaching staff at Birmingham City in January 2021, and in June was appointed technical director. A versatile midfielder, Gardner was able to play in many different positions, although he preferred central midfield. He began his career at Aston Villa before spending the 2010–11 season with city rivals Birmingham City, with whom he won the 2011 League Cup. After three seasons with Sunderland, he joined West Bromwich Albion in 2014 before rejoining Birmingham City in 2017. He retired from playing in 2020 to take up a position as first-team coach at the club. BBC Radio WM is the BBC's local radio station serving the West Midlands. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios at The Mailbox in Birmingham. The 2007–08 Premier Academy League season is the tenth since its establishment, and the fourth under the current name and make-up. Aston Villa were crowned the 2007–08 Premier Academy League Champions after beating Manchester City 2–0 in the play-off Final, with goals from James Collins and Chris Herd. Structure Group A Norwich City, Southampton and West Ham United play 20 group fixtures each, twice against all of the other teams in Group A. They also play 8 inter-group fixtures, against teams from Group B, C and D. The remaining 8 teams in the group, play 21 group fixtures - which means a single fixture in the group will be the third meeting between the teams in the season - and 7 inter-group games.
