John Scot Barrowman (born 11 March 1967) is a Scottish-American actor, author, presenter, singer and comic book writer. He is known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in '' Doctor Who'' and ''Torchwood'', and as Malcolm Merlyn in the Arrowverse. Born in Glasgow, Barrowman moved to the US state of Illinois with his family at the age of eight. Encouraged by his high school teachers there, he studied performing arts at the United States International University in San Diego before landing the role of Billy Crocker in Cole Porter's ''Anything Goes'' in London's West End. Andrew Barrowman (born 27 November 1984) is a Scottish retired professional footballer, who played as a striker. A journeyman, Barrowman played for 15 different sides during his career, including Rangers, Ross County and Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland and Birmingham City and Walsall in England. Career Birmingham City Barrowman was born in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. He joined Birmingham City at the age of 16, having been with Rangers for four years as a schoolboy. Carole Emily Barrowman (born 20 April 1959) is a Scottish-American Professor of English and Director of Creative Studies in Writing at Alverno College, Milwaukee, and a reviewer and crime fiction columnist for the ''Milwaukee Sentinel'', also known for her writing contributions with younger brother John Barrowman, an actor, singer, dancer and writer known for his role as Jack Harkness in ''Doctor Who'' and ''Torchwood''. Carole was credited as co-author on her brother John's memoir and autobiography, ''Anything Goes'', which was published in 2008 by Michael O'Mara Books. Part of the writing process involved her transcribing her brother's dictations. In 2009, John published ''I Am What I Am'', also featuring Carole as co-author. In addition to John's memoirs, John and Carole also co-wrote a ''Torchwood'' comic strip, featuring Jack Harkness, entitled ''Captain Jack and the Selkie''. Carole and John's debut novel, titled ''Hollow Earth'', was published in February 2012.

Mike Barrowman
Michael Ray Barrowman (born December 4, 1968) is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder. Barrowman was one of the pioneers of the "wave-style" breaststroke technique. Prior to attending University of Michigan, he trained with Montgomery Square Copenhaver Swim Club and the Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club in Maryland. He placed fourth in the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 200-meter breaststroke. He set a world record in the same event the following year at the USA Swimming Long Course National Championships with a time of 2:12.90.
