Claude Barras
Claude Barras (born 1973) is a Swiss director, producer, and writer. Barras was born in Sierre, Switzerland. He studied illustration and computer graphics at Emile Cohl School in Lyon and 3D infographics at ECAL. He then received a degree in anthropology and digital images from Lumiere University. He works as a freelance illustrator in Geneva. After his studies, Barras and his friend Cédric Louis co-founded Hélium Films. Under this production company, they’ve co-produced and sometimes co-directed multiple animated short films. Many of their films, like ''Land of the Heads'' (2008), have received awards and critical acclaim at numerous festivals. Jacques-Melchior Saint-Laurent, Comte de Barras (1719–1793) was a French Navy officer of the eighteenth century. He notably served in Yorktown Campaign of the War of American Independence. Biography From 25 November 1761 to 11 April 1762, with the rank of Lieutenant, he captained the frigate ''Oiseau'' for a mission in the Eastern Mediterranean. In early 1781 Barras' French squadron was based at Newport, Rhode Island. His orders from France were to mount an expedition against Newfoundland. Barras was persuaded by the Comte de Rochambeau to instead go southwards and rendezvous with Admiral De Grasse, who had brought his French fleet from the West Indies. The series of events led to the surrender of a British Army at Yorktown. The following year Barras served under De Grasse in the West Indies. Martin Barras
Martin Barras (born 23 February 1962 in Quebec) is a French-Canadian cycling coach who has coached British and Australian Olympic teams. Barras was employed as a track cycling coach at the Western Australian Institute of Sport from 1995 to 1998 where he coached Ryan Bayley. In 1999, he was appointed coach with Great Britain's sprint cycling program and his athletes - won gold (Jason Queally) and silver medals (team sprint) at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2001, he was appointed Australian Institute of Sport / Cycling Australia track sprint coach. Paul François Jean Nicolas, vicomte de Barras (, 30 June 1755 – 29 January 1829), commonly known as Paul Barras, was a French politician of the French Revolution, and the main executive leader of the Directory regime of 1795–1799. Romain Barras (born 1 August 1980 in Calais, Pas-de-Calais) is a French decathlete. At the Universiade he finished fifth in 2001 and first in 2003, the latter in a personal-best score of 8,196 points. Sébastien Barras (1653–1703) was a French painter and engraver. Life Barras was born at Aix-en-Provence, in 1653. He was a pupil of Boyer d'Aguilles, and studied for some time in Rome. The first edition of the Boyer d'Aguilles Collection, published in 1709, contained 27 mezzotints by Barras, which were replaced by plates engraved by Jacobus Coelemans in the second edition.
