Cheshire County Cricket Club
Cheshire County Cricket Club is one of twenty minor county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Cheshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Western Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Cheshire played List A matches occasionally until 2004 but is not classified as a List A team ''per se''. The club does not have a base but plays matches around the county including at Chester Boughton Hall, Didsbury, Nantwich, New Brighton, Grappenhall, Tattenhall and at Moss Lane, Alderley Edge. Christopher Charles Finegan (born 4 November 1971) is a former English cricketer. Finegan was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast medium pace. He was born in Liverpool, Merseyside. Finegan is playing club cricket for Neston CC since 2004 in the Cheshire County Premier League. Finegan made his debut for Cheshire in the 1998 Minor Counties Championship against the Oxfordshire. Finegan played Minor counties cricket for Cheshire from 1998 to 2009, including 43 Minor Counties Championship matches and 14 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. Stuart Cummings
Stuart Cummings (born 17 November 1960) is the former Match Officials Director of the Rugby Football League, and a former international referee. Career He played wicketkeeper for Cheshire County Cricket Club in the 1986 and 1987 seasons. He qualified as a rugby league referee in 1988 and was awarded senior referee status in 1991. In his refereeing career, he took charge of over 400 first-grade games, including 4 Challenge Cup finals, 2 World Cup finals and 2 Grand Finals. In 1998 he suffered bruised ribs at the end of a Challenge Cup semi-final during a crowd invasion. He was the former Rugby Football League Match Officials Director. In this position, he fielded questions from fans about refereeing decisions and explained the laws behind disputed or controversial decisions. Neil Cross (cricketer)
Neil David Cross (born 19 September 1972) is a former English minor counties cricketer. Cross was born at Wallasey in Cheshire. He made his debut in minor counties cricket for Cheshire in 1995 against Wales Minor Counties at Pontarddulais in the Minor Counties Championship. He made his debut in the Minor Counties Trophy in that same season. Prior to 2006, Cheshire were permitted to take part alongside the eighteen first-class counties in county crickets domestic one-day competition, with the matches carrying List A status.
