Barna People
The Baranha or Barna, also known as Barada Barna, are an Australian Aboriginal people of northern Queensland. Language Their traditional language is believed to be one of the Biri dialects. Country Norman Tindale estimated their tribal lands as covering around , centering on the headwaters of the Isaac River, and running west as far as the Denham Range. Their southern frontiers were around Cotherstone. They were also present around Grosvenor Downs. The Wiri lay to their north, and their eastern flank bordered the western boundaries of the Barada. A Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) is a corporation nominated by a group of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people for the purposes of native title in Australia, to represent their native title rights and interests, once that group's native title application has been recognised in a Federal Court of Australia determination, and the corporate body registered. The corporation nominated hold and manage (as trustee) or manage (as agent) before native title determination and registration, is called a Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC). Bowen Basin
The Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal-producing region contains one of the world's largest deposits of bituminous coal. The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland's first Governor, Sir George Bowen. The Bowen Basin covers an area of over 60,000 square kilometres in Central Queensland running from Collinsville to Theodore. There was a combined population of 41,973 people in the area in 2001. Rockhampton is a city in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, Australia. Native title is the designation given to the common law doctrine of Aboriginal title in Australia, which is the recognition by Australian law that Indigenous Australians (both Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander people) have rights and interests to their land that derive from their traditional laws and customs. John Alfred Dowsett is a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia. Justice Dowsett was appointed to the Federal Court on 14 September 1998,. Prior to his appointment to the Federal Court, he served as a judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland from 1985. Before his appointment to the Supreme Court of Queensland, Justice Dowsett practised as a barrister in Queensland. He was appointed as a Queen's Counsel in 1982.
