Barkmarket Albums
Barkmarket was a rock music group formed in New York City in 1987. Personnel were singer/guitarist and main songwriter Dave Sardy, bass guitarist John Nowlin and drummer Rock Savage. Barkmarket's music was usually loud and aggressive, touching on many styles (most prominently including heavy metal, hardcore punk and noise rock), but not resting definitively in any one genre. History In 1986, they released an independently recorded demo tape called BARKMARKET, then in 1987 recorded ''1-800-GODHOUSE'' on cassette 4tk. They were signed to Purge/Soundleague in NYC. After recording the second album ''Easy Listening'' the band moved to Triple X Records, who released the group's third album, ''Vegas Throat''; the latter featured guest work from avant-jazz guitarist Marc Ribot. Rhyme
A rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds (usually, the exact same phonemes) in the final stressed syllables and any following syllables of two or more words. Delta Blues
Delta blues is one of the earliest-known styles of blues. It originated in the Mississippi Delta, and is regarded as a regional variant of country blues. Tape Loop
In music, tape loops are loops of magnetic tape used to create repetitive, rhythmic musical patterns or dense layers of sound when played on a tape recorder. Originating in the 1940s with the work of Pierre Schaeffer, they were used among contemporary composers of 1950s and 1960s, such as Éliane Radigue, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, and Karlheinz Stockhausen, who used them to create phase patterns, rhythms, textures, and timbres. Banjo
The banjo is a stringed instrument with a thin membrane stretched over a frame or cavity to form a resonator. The Thrills are an Irish rock band, formed in 2001 in Dublin, Ireland. Oasis (band)
Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as the Rain, the group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam's older brother Noel (lead guitar, vocals) later joined as a fifth member, finalising the group's core lineup. Quicksand (band)
Quicksand is an American post-hardcore band from New York City, founded in 1990. Their debut self-titled EP was followed by two major-label albums, ''Slip'' (1993) and ''Manic Compression'' (1995). Quicksand's sound has been compared to that of post-hardcore bands Fugazi and Helmet. The band supported their releases with extensive touring but fell short of the mainstream success anticipated by their labels. These factors and internal stress led them to separate first in 1995 and again in 1999 following a failed year-and-a-half reunion. In June 2012, Quicksand reunited for a special one-night performance and since has been playing additional live shows. Helmet (band)
Helmet is an American alternative metal band from New York City formed in 1989 by vocalist and lead guitarist Page Hamilton. Helmet has had numerous lineup changes with Hamilton as the only constant member. Since 2010, the band has consisted of Hamilton, drummer Kyle Stevenson, guitarist Dan Beeman and bassist Dave Case. Helmet has released eight studio albums and two compilation albums. After releasing their debut album, '' Strap It On'' (1990), on Amphetamine Reptile, Helmet signed to Interscope Records and released three albums for the label, including the highly successful '' Meantime'' (1992).
