Barking At The Stars
''Barking at the Stars'' ( sr, Лајање на звезде / Lajanje na zvezde) is a 1998 Yugoslav film directed by Zdravko Šotra. Although it was filmed during a decade of war and hardship in the former Yugoslavia, the film was overall praised for its wholesomeness, as it does not contain any swearing, nudity, or talk of politics. Plot The story is told as a flashback. It was the year 1963 in the small fictional town of Moravski Karlovci. The action centres around the students in IV-2, the graduating class of the local high school. A boy whose nickname is Philosopher is developing feelings for his classmate, Danica. He's a lot smarter than other students, sometimes even smarter than his professors. There's also his best friend, who is trying to practice boxing for his big match in the capital, passionately trained by the P.E. teacher. In this story, everyone finds his/her soulmate, even the professors. Philosopher wants to win over Danica's heart, but he has a rival--his own ... Zdravko Šotra
Zdravko Šotra ( sr-cyr, Здравко Шотра; born 13 February 1933) is a Serbian film and television director and screenwriter. He is known for directing the films ''Zona Zamfirova'', ''Boj na Kosovu'', '' Šešir profesora Vujića'', ''Santa Maria della Salute'' among others, as well as television mini-series. Early life Šotra was born in the village of Kozice, near Stolac (modern Bosnia and Herzegovina), into an ethnic Serb family as the seventh child of Mara and Đorđe Šotra. As a young child his family moved to Kosovo just prior to the outbreak of World War II, where he would grow up. Career Šotra graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade with a degree in film directing. He began his professional career at TV Belgrade, working there since its inception. His film ''Zona Zamfirova'' (2002) was watched by a record 1.2 million people in Serbia. Sremski Karlovci ( sr-cyrl, Сремски Карловци, ; hu, Karlóca; tr, Karlofça) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Four Lions Fountain
Fountain "Four Lions", (, ) in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia is located at Branko Radičević Square, the main square of the town. It was built in 1799, as a crown of the first town waterworks. The leading architect was an Italian, Giuseppe Aprili, who designed this fountain in baroque style, from red marble. Since that time the fountain has become the symbol of Karlovci. There is an interesting legend about the fountain, which says that everyone who drinks water from it will return to Karlovci and get married. The fountain was completely renovated in 2007, thanks to the donation of Professor Miodrag Radulovacki, Miodrag Radulovacki.
