Barking Lizards Technologies was an American video game developer that develops for mobile phones, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, Wii and personal computer. Founded in 2001, Barking Lizards Technologies is based in Richardson, Texas. Their titles were published through several major video game publishers, namely THQ, and Activision, and have recently published a title of their own, Osiris Legends for iOS. Prior to their expansion into games development in 2006, they specialized in providing support and project outsourcing services to existing games companies. In 2006, Barking Lizards created the subsidiary Wild Hare Entertainment to publish games from external sources. The company focused entirely on PC titles for a short time before shutting down. ''Collapse!'' is a series of tile-matching puzzle video games by GameHouse, a software company in Seattle, Washington. In 2007, ''Super Collapse! 3'' became the first game to win the Game of the Year at the inaugural Zeebys. The series has been discontinued since 2015 due to RealNetworks shutting down its internal games studio. In 2006, a spin-off series called ''Super Collapse Puzzle Gallery!'' was developed into 5 games. Gameplay The classic ''Collapse!'' game is played on a board of twelve columns by fifteen rows. Randomly colored blocks fill the board, rising from below. X-Men Legends
''X-Men Legends'' is an action role-playing video game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. It was released on the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles in 2004. Barking Lizards Technologies developed the N-Gage port of the game, which was released in early 2005. Players can play as one of fifteen X-Men characters, with the ability to switch between four computer- or human-controlled characters at any time. ''X-Men Legends'' follows Alison Crestmere, a young mutant who has the ability to summon and control volcanic activity. As Alison is taught to control her powers at the X-Mansion, the X-Men are sent on several missions. N-Gage (device)
The N-Gage is a smartphone combining features of a mobile phone and a handheld game system developed by Nokia, announced on 4 November 2002 and released on 7 October 2003. It runs the original Series 60 platform on Symbian OS v6.1. N-Gage attempted to lure gamers away from the Game Boy Advance by including telephone functionality. This was unsuccessful, partly because the buttons, designed for a telephone, were not well-suited for gaming. The original N-Gage was described as resembling a taco, which led to its mocking nickname "taco phone". Nokia introduced the N-Gage QD in 2004 as a redesign of the original "Classic" N-Gage, fixing widely criticized issues and design problems.
