Barefield
Barefield or Gortlumman () is a village and townland in County Clare, Ireland. It is located on the R458 road, with the M18 national primary road between Ennis and Gort skirting it. Barefield is in the Catholic parish of Doora-Barefield parish. The village itself consists of The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Barefield National School, two shops and two pubs. Access to Barefield has changed in 2007 with the opening of the Ennis Bypass and changed again in 2010 upon the completion of the Gort Bypass. Doora-Barefield
Doora-Barefield is a parish in County Clare and part of the Abbey grouping of parishes within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. It lies to the north and east of the town of Ennis and includes the suburb of Roslevan, Ennis, Roslevan in the eastern part of Ennis. The parish is an amalgamation of the medieval parishes of Doora, Kilraghtis and Templemaley. Current (2022) co-parish priest is Martin Blake. Churches There are three churches in the parish. The main church is the St. Breckans Church in Doora (village), Doora. This cruciform church is built in 1836. The second church of the parish is the Church of Immaculate Conception in Barefield. This rectangular church is built in 1874, replacing a thatched building nearby. The third and newest church of the parish is Our Lady's Church in Roslevan. County Clare ( ga, Contae an Chláir) is a county in Ireland, in the Southern Region and the province of Munster, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. There are 2649 km of national primary roads. This category of road has the prefix "N" followed by one or two digits. Motorways are prefixed "M" followed by one or two digits. Gort ( or ) is a town of around 3,000 inhabitants in County Galway in the west of Ireland. Located near the border with County Clare, the town lies between the Burren and the Slieve Aughty and is served by the R458 and R460 regional roads, which connect to the M18 motorway. Ennis () is the county town of County Clare, in the mid-west of Ireland. The town lies on the River Fergus, north of where the river widens and enters the Shannon Estuary. M18 Motorway (Ireland)
The M18 motorway ( ga, Mótarbhealach M18) is an inter-urban motorway in Ireland, forming part of the Limerick, Ennis to Galway national primary road, which, in turn, forms part of the Atlantic Corridor called for as part of the Transport 21 project. Route The motorway starts at junction 9 on the Shannon bypass and heads in a northerly direction where it bypasses the town of Newmarket-on-Fergus via the townlands of Killulla, Knocksaggart and Ballyconneely. After Newmarket-on-Fergus the motorway runs alongside Dromoland, where significant historical features can be seen from the mainline. As the route gets further north it develops into a more modern style of road: the Ennis Bypass.
