José Álvaro Barco Andrade (born 27 June 1967) is a former Peruvian international footballer who played for clubs in Peru and Chile. Playing career Club Born in Lima, Peru, Barco began playing youth football with local side Universitario de Deportes. He played collegiate soccer for Long Island University in the United States with his brother Fernando. He returned to Peru to play professionally with Universitario, as well as C.D. Palestino and Cobreloa in Chile. He also had brief spells with Mexican side Tampico Madero in 1994-95 season and a club in China. Carolina Barco
María Carolina Barco Isakson (born 1951) is a Colombian-American diplomat, who has served as Ambassador of Colombia to the United States from 2006 to 2010, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia from 2002 to 2007. She has served as the Colombian ambassador to Spain since October 2018. Early years Barco was born in Boston, Massachusetts, while her father, Virgilio Barco Vargas, was studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1973 Barco received her BA in Sociology and Economics from Wellesley College in Massachusetts. During her time at Wellesley she spent a year studying abroad at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. George J. Barco (11 April 1907 – 15 November 1989) was an American lawyer and cable television (CATV) executive who played a key role in development of the cable industry. Early years George Barco was born on 11 April 1907, the son of Italian immigrants. He attended Meadville High School, and before graduating had married Emmaline DeLorenzo and become a father. Emmaline's parents were also Italian, and she had seven siblings. Their first daughter, Yolanda, was born on 13 March 1926 and their second daughter, Helene, was born in 1928. Club career Born in Estella-Lizarra, Navarre, Barco finished his formation with CD Calahorra, after representing Peña Sport FC and Athletic Bilbao. Martín del Barco Centenera (1535 – c. 1602) was a Spanish cleric, explorer and author. A street in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is named after him. Life Born 1535 at Logrosán, in the Diocese of Plasencia in Extremadura region (Spain); died c. 1602. He became a secular priest and in 1572 accompanied, as chaplain, the expedition of Juan Ortiz de Zárate to the Rio de La Plata in South America. For twenty-four years he followed the vicissitudes of Spanish exploration in the Argentine with undaunted courage. Centenera was made archdeacon of the church of Paraguay. In 1582 he went to Lima and acted as secretary to the third council held in that city. Miguel Del Barco
Miguel del Barco ( Casas de Millán, 1706– Bologna, 1790) was a Jesuit missionary in Baja California, Mexico and wrote major contributions to the peninsula's history and ethnography. Del Barco was born at Casas de Millán in Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain and earned a degree at the University of Salamanca. He entered the Jesuit novitiate in Castile in 1728 and journeyed to the New World in 1735. In Baja California, he was sent briefly to the mission of San José del Cabo among the Pericú in 1737, before going to serve for more than three decades (1737–1768) among the Cochimí at San Javier.
