Sabadell () is a city in Catalonia, Spain. It is in the south of the ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental and its joint capital (co-capital), on the River Ripoll, north of Barcelona. Sabadell is located above sea level. Sabadell pioneered the Industrial Revolution in Catalonia with its textile mills, together with its archrival Terrassa. Thus, in the mid-19th century, it became the most important wool city in Spain, being nicknamed the "Catalan Manchester#Industrial Revolution, Manchester". Badia del Vallès is a town and municipality in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. History The township has its beginnings in the 1960s by a government plan aimed at creating a residential area on the outskirts of the towns of Barberà del Vallès and Cerdanyola del Vallès made up of 11,054 homes and all services relating thereto. In 1970 the first phase began with the construction of the first 4,156 homes, 98 premises and internal development. Before the start of the construction of Phase 2, the Ministry of Public Works completed the construction of the Barcelona-Terrassa motorway and the third belt, occupying three quarters of the land prescribed for the second phase, on which only 1,216 new homes and 38 premises could be built. Cerdanyola Del Vallès
Cerdanyola del Vallès () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the north side of the Collserola ridge. The town is served by the A-7 and C-58 motorways, the N-150 road and the Renfe railway commuter lines R4, R7 and railway regional line Ca4. It is well known as the site of the main campus of the ''Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona'' (at Bellaterra) and hosts the ALBA (synchrotron) located in the Barcelona Synchrotron Park.
