''Barbara Weathers'' is the debut album by R&B singer Barbara Weathers released upon Reprise Records in 1990. The LP got to No. 18 on the UK Blues & Soul Hiplist chart. Overview The album was produced by Wayne Lewis, Maurice White and David Conley. Singles A song from the album called "The Master Key", rose to No. 13 on the US Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. Another single entitled "Our Love Will Last Forever" reached No. 39 on the Cashbox Top R&B Singles chart. Critical reception The album was issued to critical acclaim. Barbara Weathers (born December 7, 1963) is an American R&B/soul singer, and former lead singer of R&B vocal group, Atlantic Starr. Overview Weathers joined up at the age of 13 with an R&B band known as Covacus. This band was from her native area of Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1984, she left Covacus to join Atlantic Starr, replacing female co-lead singer Sharon Bryant, who had embarked upon a solo career. Weathers' arrival heralded a new era of mainstream success for Atlantic Starr, beginning with her debut on the 1985 album ''As the Band Turns''. A song from the album, "Secret Lovers" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Songs chart, No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (becoming the band's first major Pop hit), and No. 4 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. ''A Time for Dancing'' is a 2002 American drama film directed by Peter Gilbert and starring Larisa Oleynik, Shiri Appleby and Peter Coyote. It is an adaptation based on the novel of the same name by Davida Wills Hurwin. The film had its United States premiere on Showtime in 2004. Plot Sam Russell (Shiri Appleby) tells the story of her best friend Jules Michaels (Larisa Oleynik). They met at the age of 6 in a dance class. Over the years they become best friends. Sam dances, but Jules is a true dancer, with true passion towards it and views it as important as life itself. Unfortunately, her passion becomes impossible when it turns out she has cancer. Goodrum has written number one songs in each of the four decades since his first number one hit, 1978's "You Needed Me". Sheldon Maurice Reynolds (born September 13, 1959) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Reynolds is a former member of bands Sun, The Commodores and Earth, Wind & Fire. Career Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Reynolds began playing the guitar when he was eight years old, and by the age of 12 was considered a prodigy. He went on to become an alumnus of The University of Cincinnati. Reynolds eventually embarked upon a professional musical career. At first he toured with singer Millie Jackson. Eugene Allen Booker, Jr. (born December 19, 1962), known professionally as Chuckii Booker, is an American producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader. Biography Booker emerged in the late 1980s as a prominent urban contemporary R&B artist and producer. He began recording music after being signed by his godfather, Barry White, to his production company in 1984. Later, he played keyboards with the short-lived Epic Records band Tease for three years. Booker received his recording contract in an unlikely manner.
