Barbara Kuriger
Barbara Joan Kuriger (born 1961) is a New Zealand politician who was elected to the New Zealand parliament at the 2014 general election as a representative of the New Zealand National Party. Farming career Kuriger is a farmer, shareholder and director of three family-owned farming businesses. She has also served on the boards of several companies and institutions including DairyNZ, Dairy Training Limited, Primary ITO, New Zealand Young Farmers, Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre, Te Kauta, Venture Taranaki Trust, and the Dairy Women's Network. In 2012, she won the title of Dairy Woman of the Year. Kuriger is a former director of Oxbow Dairies Ltd which was charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect. Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre
Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre (in receivership) is a tertiary provider offering full and part-time agriculture training courses. Established in 1919 as a training farm in central Wairarapa for men returning from World War I, it was known as the Wairarapa Cadet Training Farm. Today the centre operates under an Act of Parliament (the Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre (Wairarapa) Act 1969), and consists of a full-time residential campus near Masterton and six non-residential campuses in Northland, Auckland, Taranaki, Waikato, Hawke's Bay, and Southland. Taratahi has also acquired a campus in Telford, situated in Balclutha in the South Island. The Telford location is also a full-time residential campus. Allied Press is an independent New Zealand media and publishing company based in Dunedin. The company's main asset is the ''Otago Daily Times'', New Zealand's oldest daily newspaper. Allied Press has a number of other daily and community newspapers and commercial printing operations throughout the South Island including the Canterbury–based media company Star Media. It also operates Dunedin's regional television station, Channel 39, on Freeview HD. Christopher Mark Luxon (born 19 July 1970) is a New Zealand politician and former business executive who is currently serving as leader of the New Zealand National Party and the Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Botany electorate since the 2020 general election. He was the chief executive officer of Air New Zealand from 2012 to 2019. The Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) is an Act of the New Zealand Parliament which creates a public right to access information held by government bodies. It is New Zealand's primary freedom of information law and has become an important part of New Zealand's constitutional framework.
