Baptist Missionary Association Of America
The Baptist Missionary Association of America (BMAA) is a fellowship of Independent Baptist churches. Historically, churches within the BMAA have generally been associated with theological conservatism and the Landmarkism movement. The association was formed as the North American Baptist Association in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1950, when it broke with the American Baptist Association over church representation matters. The Baptist Missionary Association of America adopted its current name in 1969. The majority of BMAA churches are concentrated in the Southern United States, but the association has churches across the United States and supports missions throughout the world. Most churches participate in local and state associations as well as the national/general body. However, each state and local association is autonomous. Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land and the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 were in accordance with Bible prophecy. The term began to be used in the mid-20th century in place of Christian restorationism. Restorationism
Restorationism (or Restitutionism or Christian primitivism) is the belief that Christianity has been or should be restored along the lines of what is known about the apostolic early church, which restorationists see as the search for a purer and more ancient form of the religion. Fundamentally, "this vision seeks to correct faults or deficiencies (in the church) by appealing to the primitive church as a normative model." Efforts to restore an earlier, purer form of Christianity are often a response to denominationalism. Born Again
Born again, or to experience the new birth, is a phrase, particularly in evangelicalism, that refers to a "spiritual rebirth", or a regeneration of the human spirit. In contrast to one's physical birth, being "born again" is distinctly and separately caused by the operation of the Holy Spirit, it is not caused by baptism in water. It is a core doctrine of the denominations of the Anabaptist, Moravian, Methodist, Baptist, Plymouth Brethren and Pentecostal Churches along with all other evangelical Christian denominations.
