The Baojun 510 () is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling through the Baojun brand. Overview The 510 debuted at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show with the official Chinese market launch in 2017. The car is positioned under the 530/560 compact crossover at the time. It was the best-selling crossover in China in 2018, and also the best-selling car sold by Baojun. , nearly 800,000 units of 510 had been sold. It is also notable for being the highest-selling newly-introduced automobile nameplate in world's history. It recorded 416,883 sales during its first 12 months in market, the highest ever in the world. It took the record from the Baojun 560 which was sold 319,536 units in a 12-month period. SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile ( zh, 上汽通用五菱汽车股份有限公司, abbreviated as SGMW) is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd. Based in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in southwestern China, it makes commercial and consumer vehicles sold in China under the Wuling and Baojun marques, respectively. A major mass-volume producer in the Chinese interior, in 2011 SGMW sold 1,286,000 vehicles in China, 1,445,000 in 2012, and aims to sell 2 million cars annually. Its offerings range in price from US$5,000 to US$10,000. SGMW is one of the largest manufacturers of microvans in China. Baojun () is a Chinese automobile marque owned by a joint venture of General Motors and SAIC Motor, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile. History The Baojun marque was established in 2010 as a cheaper alternative to existing GM brands Chevrolet and Buick, which are also on sale in China. The company's products compete with domestic Chinese manufacturers such as Chery, Geely, Changan, Haval and Trumpchi. The marque's first vehicle is the Baojun 630, a four-door sedan that has been produced since November 2010. Sales started in late 2011 through a dedicated dealer network. Chevrolet Groove
The Chevrolet Groove is one of three small car concepts introduced on 4 April 2007 at the New York International Auto Show. The Groove showcases a new style of small car from General Motors. The mini car was completely designed by GM Daewoo in South Korea. The Groove is powered by a 1.0 L diesel engine that is similar to the one powering the current Chevy Spark, a minicar sold in Asia. The Chevrolet Beat and the Chevrolet Trax were also showcased to provide a vision for future designs in the GM subcompact segment. These three concepts could be voted on after their introduction on a special website. In the end, both the Groove and Trax lost to the Beat, which is slated for production.
