Banglavision
Banglavision ( bn, বাংলাভিশন) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Shamol Bangla Media Limited, commencing official broadcasts on 31 March 2006. Its name is a portmanteau of " bangla" and "television". Banglavision is based in Bir Uttam C.R. Dutta Road in Banglamotor, Dhaka. History Banglavision applied for a broadcasting license on 30 May 2004, which the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission granted them on 31 January 2005. On the same day, Boishakhi Television and Channel 1 have also received their licenses. The channel commenced test transmissions on 25 December 2005, and officially began broadcasting on 31 March 2006 with the "Drishti Jure Desh" (দৃষ্টি জুড়ে দেশ; ) slogan, with its objective to showcase the Bengali culture to audiences. Boishakhi Television, ( bn, বৈশাখী টেলিভিশন; , referring to the first month of the Bengali calendar) also known as Boishakhi TV, stylized as boishakhi tv, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel, headquartered in Mohakhali, Dhaka. It is owned by Destiny 2000 Group, which had acquired the channel from BNS Group of Companies in the late 2000s. It officially commenced transmissions on 27 December 2005. Ekushey Television ( bn, একুশে টেলিভিশন; , in reference to 21 February), also known by its acronym ETV, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by S. Alam Group of Industries. It is headquartered in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, and is Bangladesh's first privately owned television channel to broadcast news and current affairs programming. Ekushey Television was launched on 14 April 2000 by A.S. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (''Bangabandhu-1'') is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite.
