''The Bangladesh Times'' was an English-language daily newspaper of Bangladesh. It was published by the Bangladesh Times Trustee Board which was chaired by Obaidul Haque. Mahbub Anam served as Editor of the Magazine. History ''The Bangladesh Times'' was founded in 1974 by Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani. In 1975, The Bangladesh Times along with Ittefaq, Dainik Bangla, and Bangladesh Observer were nationalized by the Government of Bangladesh. The government banned all newspapers except the four nationalized ones. Following the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the 15 August 1975 Bangladesh coup d'état the newspaper welcomed the government of Khandaker Moshtaque Ahmed. Enayetullah Khan, the editor of the Holiday, became editor of the newspaper in 1975. Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani
Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani (4 December 1939 – 15 August 1975) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the nephew of the founding father of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and founded the Mujib Bahini (Bangladesh Liberation Force-BLF) one of the major guerrilla forces of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He also founded the Jubo League, the youth wing of Bangladesh Awami League. Early life Mani was born in Tungipara, Gopalganj District on 4 December 1939. He studied in Nabakumar Institution in Dhaka. Later, he studied at Jagannath College (HSC, 1958) and BM College (BA, 1960). Career Mani was the founding chairman of the Jubo League. Later he served as general secretary of the then East Pakistan Chhatra League from 1960 to 1964. Obaidul Haque
Obaidul Haque ( bn, ওবায়দুল হক) was a politician, teacher and the former Member of Parliament of Sylhet-5. Early life and education Haque was born on 2 January 1934 into a Bengali Muslim in the village of Wazirpur in Kholachhora Union, Zakiganj, Sylhet District, Bangladesh. He completed his primary education locally, before enrolling as a student at the Dubag Junior High School up until class 8. He then studied at the Ranaping Arabia Hussainia Madrasa in Dhakauttar, Golapganj. After that, he studied at the Ashraful Uloom Madrasa in Bara Katara, Dhaka. Mahbub Anam
Mahbub Anam (March 28, 1931 – July 9, 2001) was a Bangladeshi journalist and writer. He was the editor of The Bangladesh Times. Early life Anam's father Abul Mansur Ahmed was a satirist and politician of Bengal. His younger brother Mahfuz Anam is the editor of The Daily Star. Anam was actively involved in politics from his student life. He was the general secretary of Salimullah Muslim Hall of Dhaka University in 1954-55 and was appointed acting publications secretary of the Jukta Front on behalf of the Awami League in 1954. Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad (also spelled Khandakar Mushtaq Ahmed; – 5 March 1996) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the President of Bangladesh from 15 August to 6 November 1975, after the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was part of the conspiracy that brought about the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15 August 1975. ''Dainik Bangla'' is a Bengali-language daily newspaper in Bangladesh. The newspaper was closed in 1997 and was later revived on 4 September 2022 by an editorial panel led by Nazrul Islam Mazumder and Chowdhury Nafeez Sharafat. History ''Dainik Pakistan'' was renamed ''Dainik Bangla'' after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971.
