Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology (BIMT), in Narayanganj, is a state-supported institute that offers four-year higher level diploma programs, including a Diploma in Engineering Marine Technology and a Diploma in Engineering Shipbuilding Technology. BIMT also supports four different courses of study in engineering. History The institute was established in 1958. It was known as the Marine Diesel Training Center (MDTC) since 1960. Shitalakshya River
Shitalakshya River ( bn, শীতলক্ষ্যা নদী pronounced: ''Shitalokkha Nodi'') (also known as Lakshymā River) is a distributary of the Brahmaputra. A portion of its upper course is known as Banar River or Banor River. In the Shitalakshya's initial stages, it flows in a southwest direction and then east of the city of Narayanganj in central Bangladesh until it merges with the Dhaleswari near Kalagachhiya. Bandar ( bn, বন্দর, Bondor, Port) is an upazila (sub-district) of the Narayanganj District in central Bangladesh, part of the Dhaka Division.
