Bangka Belitung University
University of Bangka Belitung (Indonesian: ''Universitas Bangka Belitung'', abbreviated UBB) is a public university in Bangka Belitung province, Indonesia. Located just outside the provincial capital of Pangkal Pinang in the Merawang subdistrict of Bangka Regency, it is the only public university (Indonesian: ''Perguruan Tinggi Negeri'') in the province. Formed by a merger of 3 higher education institutes in 2006 and formally inaugurated on 2010, the university currently hosts around 4,000 students with an annual intake of over 1,000 freshmen. It is the only university in the province which accepts students from the nationally administered SNMPTN system. History The province of Bangka Belitung separated from South Sumatra in 2000. Pangkalpinang
Pangkal Pinang is the capital and largest city of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in Indonesia. It is located on Bangka Island's east coast, the city is divided into seven districts (''kecamatan'') and has 42 wards (''kelurahan''). It covers an area of and it had a population of 216,893 at the 2020 Census. The city's population density is about 2,426 per square kilometre in 2020. Sungailiat
Sungailiat (, ) is a city and district (''kecamatan'') of Bangka Regency, in the Bangka-Belitung province of Indonesia. It is also the regency seat. It is the second-largest settlement on the island, right after the provincial capital of Pangkal Pinang. The town is located on the eastern coast of the island, about 30 kilometres north of Pangkal Pinang, to which it is connected by a paved road.
